This helps people clear up questions where they get stuck. You can meditate in a stuck place for years until someone points you beyond yourself. That is what these videos aim to do. You can find a nugget here or there that helps propel you beyond where you are---then great!

I think this is a great interview and I greatly appreciate this opportunity to hear Eric's story. I 100% support Eric following his inclinations for his own personal evolution. I do not in anyway discount Eric's abilities--or his great spiritual journey. I just re-watched the first 46 minutes. Maharishi gave teachers a technique that could be given out to non-mediators who were under a lot of stress. The technique was called "feeling the body". During TM practice, Maharishi did account for the possibility that this "feeling the body" technique could be useful in situations wherein some very strong, overpowering, thoughts or feelings arise during TM--but only until one starts to feel easy again--then continue TM. I have never had a situation come up during maybe 1,000 checking sessions for TM, wherein this instruction was needed. Maharishi felt that to continue this "feeling the body" during TM, once the meditator felt easy again, had the effect of dulling the mind. For those non-meditators who were under strong emotional distress, prolonged "feeling the body" would have been OK--it was fine for them to even fall asleep while "feeling the body".

Don't be so stuck in the cult-like thinking and judgment of the TM-movement. Why do you have to marginalize him? This type of thinking is what destroyed the TM movement.

So Lehman, I have revised my posts quite a bit.

Hi, I´ve had many experiences with TM, some of them so strong that after many years they are still alive in my consciousness. One thing I realized is that those experiences usually happen when my attention, specially my heart, is connected to some teacher, teaching or form of God. So it was always the combination of the silence of TM with something else.

Re road maps that you both spoke about, I once personally heard Maharishi say on Victory Day 1995 that there is only one state of consciousness, Brahman; and everything else is just the paraphernalia of teaching. Just thought to share. Really enjoyed this interview.

I derived great benefit from TM, but never had flashy experiences like Eric. Flashy experiences aren't necessary.

Thanks always for doing these videos. My path - that of anapana/vipassana is different yet basically I see the same issues coming up. If I may add however it seems to me that the process of anapana might perhaps be more effective in bringing "stuff" up as the process of focussing on the breath automatically does this. My experience of mantra use however is that it can very easily lead one to a kind of half asleep state which is pleasant but one in which one can stay for years without advancement

I think that those people who have abilities I'mean some higher than the usual things wise people are not speaking about it , if someone speaks having abilities super high ones , I think that is not a wise thing . I hope all this video will bring to some people some usefull information , for me there is to much of wise asses and all are much to much far from consciousness experienced in Maharishi. So the BEST would be just not much talking but meditating regularly and doing some useful action

I get the impression that you are being energetically dominated in this interview, Rick...

what you are doing or what you are not doing is purely intellect, and that will not bring you closer to Enlightenment , loosing precious time

We've all heard and seen these sorts of promises--magical thinking, enlightenment through a touch or gaze--all BS. If it seems too good to be true it is. Use critical thinking and resist the temptation to buy into instant enlightenment. When will we learn?
