Eric has always been my biggest hero. I have always been amazed at his guitar work, and I have been a Blues/Hendrix player for over 40 years myself. I met him once at "Heart of Texas" music store in Austin. I was living in my car, and I was hanging around that store playing guitar one day & he came in and said..."Nice Hendrix" He talked to me for several minutes and was incredibly nice to me. I saw him again 3 weeks later in the same store, and he remembered my name. I was AMAZED! Dennis Dullea

Eric's exploitation of the tones from his Stratocaster is sublime. Very tasteful indeed despite using gadgets. Amazing closeness to a violin.

The last minute of this clip tells me everything that I need to know about Eric Johnson. One of the best to ever pick a guitar, and STILL, he's trying to get that ultimate tone. I feel blessed to be able to listen to someone this good, but yet, as humble as one can be. He will be written about hundreds of years from now, in the history of music.

Yes and why always have the tone so low when the overdrive is on ? After awhile it's just so boring. Love the guy, have his sig guitar and the clean tones are great.

His lead tone doesn't have a fuzz... Its the same vintage marshalls with tube driver and echoplex just like the old days.. He uses fuzz rarely
