A band from the 90s called Days of the New wrote a shit ton of songs in Double Drop D and Drop D. Yellow album is an excellent one to listen through.

Looking at that fly on the top of the guitar, I think Johnson should have played Little Wing instead.

From the article The Ah Via Musicom Sessions - Guitar Player magazine - March 1990 How did you record your acoustic blues instrumental, "Song For George"? We went with the 2-track demo version for the album, we just re-EQed and mastered it. There's no overdubs or anything. We used just a couple of mikes in a stereo pattern. One was closer between the fingerboard and the soundhole, and one was down near the guitar strap. That song is written for George Washington, an 80-year-old black man who's my dad's best friend. He's a great, great guy. Whenever I go to see him, I always have to bring my guitar. He gets upset if I don't at least sit down and play some blues for him. He'll play some, too. He has an old guitar that he tunes to an open chord, and he has two songs - his blues song and his church song. The church song is like the blues song, except it's in a major key instead of minor. I have another [electric] blues song called "Hard Times." It's pretty neat, but it's me singing, which is not very blues-approved. I've never really thought about releasing it, but George was like, "You ought to put that on the record!" On a side note, "Hard Times" was later released on the Souvenir album (2003).
