It blows my mind how naturally they all stepped back into their character. We have all seen the reboots of other shows where the vibe is not successfully recaptured, the characters feel forced or the actors took a bit to refind the character they once played. But this show.. they did it. It was as if they never stopped playing these parts.

It's because majority of them actually stayed friends in real life, Eric, Corey, Topanga, Shawn, Mr. Feeney, Jack and plenty of the other characters were a real family on and off screen. Unfortunately so many other shows are filled with Actors & actresses who just aren't the same way

I was sad too because I grew up on the Boy meets world reruns. So I was really excited to see a continuation of the show. Unfortunately, Disney channel only allowed their shows to have a certain amount of seasons at the time. The Disney channel also couldn’t allow Girl Meets World to handle certain topics on the show like the original show did ( sex , alcohol , abuse, etc)

I was so skeptical about the show! I put off watching it for a while because I thought for sure it would kill all that was good about Boy Meets World by giving it that Disney vibe. Then I tuned in and was impressed that they rebooted it so well, only to have it then canceled. And it didn't give me that Disney Vibe at all. Sometimes the two main girls reminded me a bit of Carly and Sam on I-Carly (the two friends even have a similar look), but they managed to hold their own. The final episode was well executed at least.

The problem was they ran into the stupid 3-season paywall thing that kills a lot of Disney channel shows. I personally thought another channel like Freeform or ABC or even Netflix should've picked it up and followed Riley through her older teen years and into college like how BMW did with Cory

As a child of the BMW era, I still enjoyed this show a lot, because they actually did a really great job of having a split in the story between the Adult characters that today's parents remember growing up with, and the new generation's story for the kids. Though it's firmly a kid's show and more time is spent on them, anyone who grew up with BMW will love the moment with the original cast, the cameos, the story they have for them, and it's just enough to leave you satisfied with where things get left. I do hope we see one last run where they become grandparents and retire in The Villages (Yes that's a horrible joke lol)
