I never thought I would spend 1 hour and 55 minutes of my life watching a video of a model train layout. But I just did and enjoyed it immensely! That's the coolest thing I've ever seen. This is an art form. I haven't looked at model trains for about 50 years. It's truly amazing what they've become and what this young man is doing with them. But see, this is why I cut the cable. This is far more interesting than the 100th rerun of Alaska Bush People, and it's not a fake "reality" show. This dude really does this.

Cool beans ! This stuff realty brings out the kid in a 60 year old guy. Love the realistic varied weathering on all the rolling stock. I suspect that large model railroad layouts and ship building share something in common, - That being, it is built, put into operation, but never really finished. There is always something that needs to be repaired, painted, modified, upgraded or replaced. Bravo, great video.

i wish the model railroad companies would be more modern not the 50's, because i'm 11 and i wasn't born in the 50's so i would like so modern things. great video!

VERY impressive, and beautiful layout, with some very clever ideas ... the pull-outs being the one that stands out for me! So often you see layouts where the owner pops up from beneath the layout ... that has it's place, especially in the middle of a large layout ... but I really dig the pull-out idea! Very cool!

I like your layout because it looks natural, like running across the wild, wide open expanse of the country. It's open yet filled in but not cluttered. I'm new to the hobby but your track is by the best I have seen. If I am to build a layout I would use this style right here. But who am I kidding, I'm still figuring out different layouts with fast track lol. Excellent Work Dude!

There are many 4% grades in the Rocky mtns that many trains go over. The Big Boys were made to carry mile long trains over the sasquatch mountains between laramie Wy and Salt lake city. The Big Boy could carry 25,000 gallons of water and 100,000 lbs of coal and go through it in 2 hours. So they had to be refueled before a trip up the hill and once they got to the top. Eastern Wy has much coal, so it was a Great place to use what they had. To this day we get much coal in North East Wy.
