How can someone NOT love this? I've watched the movie and listened to the music perhaps a million times, and it still makes me cry, because it's sooooooo beautiful!

This movie really is helping me cope with life. Someone like Leon can still have a heart in a world full of death.
@Coneman33 жыл бұрын
It's a reminder of the power of a good child and the human spirit in adverse circumstances. The 'purity' of the 2 main characters stands as a stark contrast to a dysfyunctional US city, with bad family life, corrupt cops etc.

Leon is such a strong character with a heart of gold and it's so adorable to see his kind of strong and preserved nature be disturbed when Mathilda says "cute name" he chocks on his milk and feels uncomfortable, as he does whenever she makes any kind of romantic gesture or comment toward him, it conflicts his moral stance as he is met with temptation if only for a fleeting moment before he re-balances.

@@Coneman3 I'd say he's rather emotionally immature/still pure? Look at his powerful expression when he's at the cinema (Jean Reno really should have received the Oscar for that): It's the look of a child that's full of joy, innocence and amazement. He did lose the one he loved, but in a way, it kept the innocence in him (he didn't have to deal with a regular break up, his love was just "taken" from him which is different).

I actually think that Portman peaked with this movie. She's a good actress, but considering how young she was here, I feel that she "cursed" herself. Nothing she can ever do will top this performance.

For these brilliant acting performances in “Leon - The Professional”, Jean Reno as Léon, Natalie Portman as Mathilda Lando, Gary Oldman as Norman Stansfield, Luc Besson and Eric Serra should be awarded Oscars. An absolutely unique movie. @Daniel Cosme so do I, after watched the movie I feel something I don't know I had. Like, Leon turn on the things, this feeling, I am crying like crazy. Leon take my heart and Mathilda keep it. It's weird that I watched this movie for the first time in my 21 y.o but feel nostalgic. I love the Mathilda's appearance, her hair, her necklace, I don't expect gonna fall this deep to Leon. He seem familiar but strange.

Sadness and elegance, NY90's. Léon characterized the city better than most films set there ever did, and it's mostly down to the score. Who would've thought, these instruments huh? I'd like to mention, "Leon" and "The Professional" are two different films due to the edit. Avoid the latter at all costs!
