Fun fact: The plot involving a lightning and a Kryptonian giving powers to a normal human dates back to the early 90’s live action series “Lois and Clark, The New Adventures of Superman” where the incident gives kryptonian powers to a young boy who was travelling on a plane that was flying near Superman during a storm. He claimed he was the son of Superman. In 1997 the same plot was used to create Livewire for the Animated Series. Finally, it was reused for Smallville with the addition of Kryptonite as a medium. Later in comics we come to know that when exposed to the radiation of a Blue Star, a Kryptonian can naturally bestow kryptonian powers to humans. Livewire is the only known case where the process does not bestow kryptonian powers, but in the story arc Superman Blue/Superman Red Clark loses his solar powers in favour of electric powers. As also Jon Kent, his son, recently gained electric powers, this may be a latent genetic trait that kicked in when Livewire got her powers from Supes.

Jon kent being exposed to a substance called lazurin idk if i spelled it right, is what actually caused jon to get his new electric powers but it uses up all his energy reserves. While very op its also risky which he actually kept in mind after he violated ultraman and later proceeded to use his new powers to neg diff injustice wonder woman before she can even react 😂😂😂.

You missed an earlier episode from Lois and Clark where he was struck by lightning stopping a suicide attempt while both were holding the gun that was actually the first time that series used that plot point not the episode with the kid that happened after Lois discovered Clark's double life which was the major plot point of that episode that Lois believed there were other secrets Clark was keeping from her. I'm literally rewatching the series again and had that order wrong myself.

this is a good presentation of his bio-electric field.
