Erica, I just love your first ones that you have done that you are keeping. Especially the “crazy” one towards the end - that is what you called it. I just love chunky yarns. I am so interested in this whole process. I have made a hand spindle so I can spin my fibers. Spinning wheels are so expensive. I have bought lots of fibers from different shops. I also use them for needle felting and I want to try wet felting the fibers. Thank you for sharing. Loved this video. ❤️😘🤗💕😍

I love the “paint Me a picture”… And all of them actually! How fun!! Such a pretty colors! So can you pretty much make a hat or a scarf from one of those skeins? I need to get back into knitting, so many fun hobbies and seems like not enough time to do them all!

Your handspun is so pretty!!!!! I spin and weave, as well as knit, crochet, and sew (and other crafts). I LOVE seeing other people spin and how they do it! So far, I use hand spindles. I haven’t had a chance to play with any wheels. Just went to the DFW Fiber Festival and bought some dyed locks. Still have some VM in them. And I get a subscription box from a Little Texas Yarns.

Very educational! I knew nothing about this process before watching your channel. Carding does look very relaxing. Yes, do knit them up and show us the final results! Glad to see that Jax is still "active" in your sewing room. You mentioned Vlogmas. Guess it's too early to ask ... but fingers crossed!

What an interesting video. I don’t knit or crochet, but still want to learn. I honestly thought you had to have the animals to spin yarn. So cool you can buy and spin your own. I can see why you treasure the skeins. I would have a hard time using them, too.

Wow, color me impressed! I love all the colors. What if you took one of those skeins that you said looks like a hot mess and use that as kind of a rope and crochet around it to make a basket or something?

I always love your videos. Do you still have the King Bee? I’m looking at a spinning wheel and seeing your video on the King Bee and now Spinolutions are one my list along with some other castle styles.

This was so fun to watch - thank you Erica! I’m curious - can the yarn be re-spun once you’ve completed it? I mean say you get to the end but decide you prefer it thinner or plied differently - do you need to (can you) card it again to start over? I don’t spin but the process fascinates me! Thanks!

Hi! It's a bit of a hassle to re-card it, but you can definitely "un-spin" it if you want to! You can put it on the wheel and spin it in the opposite direction you initially spun it in so you don't have to do it by hand. Some solutions: If it's too thin and you want to add bulk: Ply it with another yarn that's a bit heavier to increase bulk or "Chain-Ply" so 3 strands together. If it's a good weight and you don't want to make it bulkier, you can either leave it as a single or ply it with a mercerized cotton strand that doesn't add much bulk and will help even the texture. If it's too bulky and you want it thinner, I guess the only thing I can think of is to "un-spin" and start over. That said, I tend to just let my yarn be whatever it wants to be and not think about it too much. :)

Beautiful yarn at the risk of sounding stupid can you buy that like it is like it looks like it has all kinds of texture when I go to the website I don’t see it.
