I love the Lizzie Kate Strings. I posted them to sticky board with batting then back it with another sticky board covered with fabric to complement the season. Then change them out by season on a metal shelf I got from hobby lobby. Just glue magnets to the back of the sticky board.

I bet they are adorable!

Love the Christmas piece you finished- i want to make that now. Will have to put on my wish list for next year! I think the shingles on the Victorian dollhouse would be the best finishing touch and make the house - you should give it a try.
@EricaDHouseMA4 жыл бұрын
I think the shingles were very difficult for me last time I tried. But I could give it a go again!

You could use cardboard wrapped in fabric, using some Banting under your stitched LizzieKate and put on an old shutter or use a big old washboard. Kinda goes with all your farm themed stuff. Jen Lee, Quirksandstitches has a huge planner book she put together for $12. It has EVERYTHING to keep you organized and plans in order for all of 2020, along with her acronyms for each month. It’s a PDF. I am getting it because I plan on doing 9 samplers (it is the year of samplers) I already have them and fabric. I am probably going to floss toss colors. I probably have like 20 wips to work on to break up the samplers.

I’ll look into that planner I really need to get more organized!

I put together a Victorian dollhouse from Real Good Toys. They are challenging to put together but fun to decorate and furnish.

Lori Holt on Fat Quarter shop shows a great way to make ornaments...she makes them like a little pillow with an insert...so cute! And I think they are easier than trying to put two pieces together and then trim. I like them that way, but the other one is just as cute.
@EricaDHouseMA5 жыл бұрын
I wonder where she gets the pillow inserts from I’ve never seen them so tiny

@@EricaDHouseMA I'm sure she made them....stuffed her own little squares.

You could easily take the Christmas or the summer strings and put them on sticky board. Make another one that's about 1/3 or 1/2 in larger on all sides that's covered with coordinating fabric. Then I would glue or use the washers/ magnets and put that on a pallet board. And hang that on the wall. Fast and easy!

Vonna has another tutorial that i used to make my pillow ornaments - no twine- simple bow on top. Easy to do!! It’s her Prairie schooler ornament. Check out that tutorial - if I can do you- you totally can!!!! I think it’s called simple pillow ornament finishing

Hi Erica...good to see you feeling better...watch The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch on FQS...their finishing ideas are on there...Priscilla has a blog spot .com that shows her finishing ideas too...you can join her Facebook group and see everyone showing their finishing...they rarely uses a frame...Kimberly has a tutorial for finishing on FQS...just takes a little practice using foam core board and backing fabric...glue gun...magnets and washers...I of course would rather stitch than finish😂...but the mail waits for no one...trade off with your husband...you stitch ornaments and he watches the kids...fair trade...they are for his family too...best wishes (came up witches...AI knows you like Halloween)❤️

Love the ornaments - beautiful. I just watched a Lori Holt tutorial on finishing ornaments I think it was on FQS youtube. Cute finishing - check it out. What about adding some material to the small snippets to make them big enough for a small frame. Have a great week. Hugs
@EricaDHouseMA5 жыл бұрын
Some more cross stitch fabric to them or regular cotton fabric?
@judischafman515 жыл бұрын
regular cotton fabric - some Christmas fabric maybe or something subtle. I've done this so that my project would fit a decent size frame. They turn out really cute too. I've also done this to make them into a pillow.
