Erica had a Shabazz moment! ("... for *awl* types of things...". Congrats on the success, and growing success, of your channel. Indeed, the honesty's the thing!

The reason the alox tools seem “beefier” is because it’s a larger knife so they can fit larger tools in there. The normal plastic handled (cellidor) models are 91mm while the larger alox are 93mm. The alox cadet and bantam are smaller than both at 84mm, but there are also smaller plastic models too, also in 84mm. The tools are the same across sizes, when you get a larger size you get larger tools.

I've carried a SAK for years love them. Biggest advantage is that you can take them out anywhere and no one freaks out. I REALLY wish that they could find a way to put the tweezer and toothpick on the alox models.

The first tool I bought when I got my first job was an Explorer, which I am rebuilding as the liners have disintegrated. I have the Bantam, Huntsman, Trekker and other models, but I usually used just the knife and scissors, till I had to saw some thin planks recently, so I used the Trekker's saw, which made short work of the planks. If I carried here (Singapore) my choice would be the Huntsman, followed by the Trekker. Thank you, it was a great presentation! I was better than awlright :)

Love that black finish they did! I almost always have some sort of locking folder but my Vic compact has been in my left pocket 100% of the time for years. Pioneer X took over for a bit but I missed the scale tools too much and switched back after a few months.

Victorinox manager is a great keychain knife to keep tweezers, toothpick, pressurized pen, and screwdriver on you at all times. I also love the Evo 14 (would stay a way from ones with locking blades). Tortoise gear also makes firesteel toothpick replacements as well as firesteels + tinder that fits in the corkscrew.

The small flat on the end of the can opener is excellent for Phillips screws of most sizes. Can’t believe how excellent it works! Great vid! 🍻

Besides my main EDC Spyderco Delica. I tend to carry a Victorinox Adventurer, 111mm slide locking main blade or a Wenger Evolution S 10 with locking main blade. Both two layer only just what I need without frills. Since I spent decades working an Asian Market I got used to carrying either a Box Cutter or Utility Knife to cut cardboard. These meet my needs, you my very thoughts on a beater knife, a clean one for food and a cardboard cutter. Enjoyed this post.

Not surprised about your success. You have a great channel. Very passionate person. Awesome dogs too. From Chicago Cutlery bought Spyderco Chicago, Kershaw Piston, and the Benchmade mini Barrage combo edge. Several years ago when I worked nearby. Small world. Keep the passion going. The benchmade sparked my interest in knives although I also love Spydercos. Cheers. Thanks for your hard work. Glad you live in a free state.

It started when i was a smol kid with a my Moms swiss army knife (Huntsman) and i never got over this facination... Now i have tasted my way through the entire Knife spectrum (sometimes literally), from BestBuy specials from China all the way to fondling the entire Chris Reeve Lineup ... And here i am... Back to my roots, My edc is now days again, a Swiss army Knife (110mm Outrider) and a Swiss Tool X! Back to where i startet but a bit bigger. Living in Germany there isn't too much cutting work around for a knife, but all the other tools are coming in more and more handy!

Most of the time, I carry a combo of a SAK and a good one hand opening knife. This week it has been Hogue DEKA and SAK Classic (tiny one with a blade, flat head/file, phillips/cap lifter). Another real good combo is my SAK Tinker and Spyderco Endura.

I would love to see them bring back the bush crafter alox. Just a large main blade with a saw and the cap lifter Flathead combo. It was my favorite Victorinox for years

I carry a Huntsman and Classic SD literally every day. I love the Alox but no toothpick is a no go for me. I use it all the time. Honorable mention, I keep a Tinkerer in my work bag, great tool!

People absolutely notice those around who are more capable! Someone was always asking to borrow my blade so I started carrying a SAK (tinker) to lend out. I don’t mind if they misuse it, but I do mind if they misuse the Case in CV steel that I’ve been carrying around, working on that nice patina!

I love Swiss Army Knives. My grandpa gave me a Victorinox Tinker when I was 5. I carried that for years until I got my first multitool with pliers and ended up going away from the Swiss Armies for several years. When I came back to the Swiss Armies I started buying only ones with saws because I learned with my plier based tool that a saw was something that I used a lot. Now I won’t buy a SAK that has no saw. My favorite models are the Swisschamp, Harvester, Ranger Grip 58, Trekker/Soldier, and Camper
