Wondering why would you mute the A string on an A9sus4 chord and put your thumb on 5th fret of E for the A?. I find it easier to play from open A string instead. Just wondering? was also wondering ( I am such a wonderer LOL!) why most bands that play this tune do not play the Bflat passing note that leads back into the chorus? Thanks!

For me, using the thumb on the A gives more control. All you have to do is lift the thumb a little to kill the note. Using open strings requires the right hand for control, which can be a bit of a pain. What do you think?
