@@EricDIY Just replaced H/C seals and spindle. Still low spray. Only thing left is volume spindle or the stop spindle. This is an outside shower. What do you think?

@gilbrook I would look at the spindle next and see if the float moves freely. If it doesn't, replace it. The last thing is to see if you have a limiter on the hot water line from the boiler (if using gas/oil) kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJK8g4Bqma-Bo5I

I just replaced the hot and cold seats, in my Symmons bathtub faucet, after having replaced the spindle. I had purchased the T35C tool and that was able to both remove the old seats and install the new ones. FINALLY…no leak!

Reverse your pipe wrench direction and it will work 100% better for you.

Do u have to shut off water to building to change seats if integral stops won’t fully shut off?

@@jtinero if it has 4 indentations, it's the old one. If it has more than 4, then it's the new. The official tool can remove both

Sorry for all the comments Eric, but wanted to share this with you. Would you be interested in doing a collab with us for a free tool? Why shouldn’t I use an easy out? Many professionals have used an easy out to remove frozen or stripped seats, which is a struggle in itself. When doing this, you are distributing huge amounts of torque through the valves and water pipes that your chances for breaking the pipes have increased a great deal. If they don’t break, they have certainly been compromised and may leak at the joints shortly after. It also expands the soft brass valve body, which the seats screw into. This means if you successfully remove the seats, the new seats may leak either right away or shortly later. Not to mention the struggle of going back to doing this with brute force rather than the effortless process with a powered gun and the Zip Seat Extractor. Better for your valve, your pipes, and your body.

Best tool ever, I use zip extractor as a facilities Manager on my Symmons shower valves, never have I ever stripped the hot water seat

I followed all your other videos and still only a lukewarm shower I guess seats in next. Well although I'm seriously considering ripping out this stupid nanny valve and putting in an illegal old school valve like I had at my old house. Seriously miss a hot shower in the depths of winter

@douglasunderhill7938 we had a hot water limiter on the boiler we ended up getting rid of and it's piping hot now as well. Might want to see if you have one on your hit water supply line

​​@@EricDIY thank you but no I don't. Have any limiter. It's a 40s house there's nothing fancy here lol. Shower was always acceptable if not as hot as I would like but has recently degraded. Replacing the original gate valves which leaked with ball valves was the first job I did at the new house, so I know for sure there is no limiter.

My water temp changes from warm to cool then cold After a while it will get warm then hot by the time your shower is done . The water for the rest of the house is very hot.

Try using the diverter handle to slow the flow of the water a little. sounds like you're running through the hot water and then having to wait for your boiler/heater system to heat the water again
