I absolutely loved this weekend, and what it meant, means, for motorsports. I would still like to see them run the oval, but this event was necessary. I would propose a short race on the asphalt, and a short race on the oval in the same day. Both winners make playoffs, and so does whoever has the highest average finish of the two. I know this would be difficult because of all the prep work and cameras that go into a race weekend, but fresh ideas like that will keep motorsports, specifically Nascar, going.

True fans of racing do not want to see anybody getting hurt! And are relived when a driver can get out of the car, after a bad or serious wreck. That is the difference between a true race car fan and the occasional knucklehead that watches, hoping to see a bad accident! I was never a fan of slice bread, but was glad when he was able to get out the car under his own ability.
