I remember a cold morning 4 am in Milwaukee having a discussion while my car warmed up with the rabbi over the meanings of both celebrations. We discussed the Christmas tree and the menorah. Then he walked on to the synagogue and I drove to my job at the hospital. I think the reason he asked me was because his disabled son and I rode the same bus home my last year of college. One day when we got off the bus we had to cross right away to his side of the street because the attendent at the corner gas station had been killed and the police had the other side of the street blocked. Thats the first time his parents met him at the door. I lived another block further on.

I just wish Israel govt did not shut its borders because so much I want to learn about in Israel as christian and military man. I served in deck dept first division on us navy most decorated warship Uss New Jersey bb62 who docked in Israel I think in 1983 but I was in asia in 1983 on my other navy ship. I think it's sad a discrimination on people like me who are in good health and do not plan to get any virus shots.so I am praying I will be allowed to visit Israel before I check out of this world to my home heaven
