Thank you, loved the tour and the books, feel like I've just spent an afternoon there! I had not heard of several of the books and would definitely like to read: Raising Hare, Eighteen, and The Garden Against Time. The Paddington mural was gorgeous, and the windows of Forntnam and Mason. Appreciate you taking the time to share with us. I had a most enjoyable lunch hour with you in London.

Ah good, I’m glad you enjoyed it and that you like the sound of those books. 😊📚

I absolutely love this type of combined travel vlog with book presentation/synopsis showing the covers of the books and listening to your soothing voice!!! This is one of the best book/travel videos I've seen presented on u- tube! Thanks SO much!

Thank you for a lovely trip around London. My local Waterstones (Norwich) I find so frustrating as I can never find what I am looking for!

Hello Eric🙋♀️ I really enjoyed your latest video📹 and seeing all the sights of London. It made me realise how much I miss this great City. One of my favourite walks, was to cross Blackfriars Bridge, walking passed the Globe Theatre 🎭 Tate Modern🎨 and along the South Bank. I would often visit “Waterstones” and frequent their Coffee ☕️ Shop in the Basement... Happy Times...HAPPY READING 📚

Great tour, thanks! I paused the video to place a library hold on Laing’s book so I had a big smile afterwards when you revealed that you had purchased a copy. 😁

Thank you so much, Eric, for these great London vlogs! 🌷I’ve been to the Waterstones on Piccadilly many times and it was fun looking at their displays from the Netherlands thanks to you!😍I have Glorious Exploits and The Garden Against Time still unread on my shelves, but not for long. I look forward to your review of Our Evenings. I very much enjoyed reading The Sparsholt Affair, and was actually considering reading Alan Hollinghurst’s Man Booker winner, The Line of Beauty next.

I used to work round the corner from that Waterstones - not good for my purse! It also has a nice restaurant on the 5th floor and a cosy cafe in the basement. Great video as ever.

I loved this video, I’m from London and it’s always wonderful to visit this time of year pre-Christmas. I remember when Waterstones was Simpsons and when it closed thought they’ll never be able to fill it with books but it’s a wonderful bookstore.

What a lot of walking you did!!! And what a treat to see some favorite London sights and neighborhoods. I am surprised that Waterstones did not do a proper display of all the books but I can imagine that it was fun finding each one. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this!
@christelvanzyl5246Ай бұрын
Oh my word! I am from Cape Town and about 6 weeks ago I was in that exact Waterstones shop! I kept looking for famous booktubers, but unfortunately I did not spot you, Jack Edwards or Ben Reads Good. At least now I have spotted you in there, albeit on video and not in reality. (Talking about reality....thanks for your (written) review of Solenoid. I agree with you and love the book!) PS I also visited Leister Square, Trafalgar Square, the London Eye and (for the first time) the Globe Theatre when I was in London. (I wish I had the time to watch a play in the Globe. Then again, they say the seats are quite hard.😅) Thank you for your videos. I love the ones in which you go walkabout.

When I lived in London I loved going to the Theatre 🎭 and I visited Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre a few times. You can hire a cushion to sit on, in the foyer. The Ushers also handed out free sun visors... Seeing a Shakespeare play performed on this authentic stage, was very special. 📖
@christelvanzyl5246Ай бұрын
@@alisonjordan I would like to see Hamlet, but Othello, R&J, Macbeth or the Merchant of Venice will all be a treat! I will be sure to rent a pillow! May you bring your own pillow in?

Small world! I've had a very enjoyable trip to this store, which is perfectly situated very near to my favourite theatre in Jermyn Street. Glorious Exploits is tremendous fun and The Seige is next on my list. My wife has really enjoyed Eighteen.

Oh, this video brought me great expectant joy as I’ll be in London in about a month! I came over last year in December too. I hope to take in much more of the Christmas displays this year (and also not get COVID like I did last year). I will definitely be reading The Siege in one format or another. It sounds fascinating. I would have been 17 at the time and have only the vaguest memories of it. Thanks for the tour, Eric. Really made me smile. And I added Battersea Power Station to my sightseeing list. I’ve been intrigued by it ever since it featured in one episode of Sherlock!
@EricKarlAndersonАй бұрын
That’s great to hear and I hope you enjoy your trip. I’m not sure if the Battersea Powerstation renovation had been completed when you came last time but it’s so impressive how it’s been made into a shopping centre but they’ve retained so many of the original features and you can go to the top for impressive views. It’s really a beautiful London landmark.

I'm enjoying the well-read Intermezzo audio, albeit listening while I drive (whereas some books demand more focused attention). The audiobook does ameliorate the issue of those among us who prefer punctuation. I'm at 71% in, thinking less might've been more. I'm pleased that she has so many readers. May their both their reading lives and their sex lives improve with time.

I can't help thinking of our very own pink slime when you mention the Argentinian book. Lean finely textured beef (LFTB)-colloquially known as pink slime-is a meat by-product used as a food additive to ground beef and beef-based processed meats, as a filler, or to reduce the overall fat content of ground beef.

I need to get Cloud spotting for beginners and I have heard the same thing as you about Butter but I plan on getting to it sometime. But on one of the tables I saw The List by Yomi Adegoke, what a good novel it should have gotten more love

Thanks again Eric for the wonderful tour. You can't imagine how these trips are changing my mood. I used to Study in England but I left England after my graduation end of 2013 and I have never been again to London since then. I really miss every nook and cranny and the smell of London's streets, it brings me good memories. Please keep it up, you are a talented photographer and commenter. I would like to ask you please what kind of camera are you using? It's really brilliant.

if you havent read the book - how do you know its uneven - pray tell?
@EricKarlAndersonАй бұрын
I’ll tell you what I said in the video: that I’ve just heard it’s uneven. I’ve heard this from multiple people who have read the book and this has made me less interested in reading it. Why? Have you read it?
@alexanderson1193Ай бұрын
Bruv, don't chat shit about a book you haven't read. You don't know it's uneven because YOU haven't read it. Read aloud the synopsis for your little video and move on

Surprised how much attention Butter is getting. Your summary definitely reflects my feeling - good premise but fell a bit flat.
