"Here's my email to apply in case you're not deterred by all these negative things and unrealistic expectations I've set!" Everyone is biased. But in this case, it's not even about being less biased. There's a ton of bias.

100 %agree. Learning and experience is much higher in small consulting firms than in line organizations or big consulting firms.

Tier 1 consultants can’t think for themselves, they offer text book answers with a focus on their utilisation and next opportunity. They fail at helping clients address the business problem. I manage a very successful vendor independent practice.I am proud that consultants are challenged but don’t have to work 50+ hour weeks. Their only target is customer satisfaction.

Overwork and salary is a major con. Post graduates intake and their lack of (engineering) trade technical workplace industry development within the consulting organisation is also a hindrance.

There is wisdom in a multitude of consultants but he who thinks he knows it all is sure to experience set backs with nobody to blame but himself.

Im warthing this video in India and it's pretty much the same thing here. Hilariously true, these consulting firms will just dump any graduates to deal with client problems with an equally incapable manager. All these consulting firms follow the same problems globally and they dont even want to fix it! So much for consulting when their own iteration % is so high!

It is like he saying that all should be Medical Dr.,not Engineers! It's like saying all graduate Engineers must do regular Jobs as Engineers, none should opt for Business or Manufacturing! It's just like saying Attorneys are not needed in this tech or global world! If everyone does regular jobs as Engineers, then who will offer Engineering Consulting services? But there are risks in regular jobs or employment too! Morever, you loose your individualism in that! No matter, what & how good you do,it is Co. or Organisation whose name gets publicity & credit! Irrespective of many other things or income, many people don't like the very idea of job or employment! But one thing is there:- Consultants give impartial advise, their own view, opinion & so people or Firm or Org. or Co. is elevated or profited. Many times, such Firm or Org. or Co. don't have expertise in outside or interdisciplinary domains,so Consulants are helpful. Lastly, there is unemployment in many nations or states,in that scenario, one can start on own as Consultant,it doesn't require any capital or money to do so,all it needs is knowledge & skills in domain! However,I wish to make one point:- word Consultant is more a general word & not specific. So,in many cases, law requires that such a Consultant fulfils legal criteria. For Ex, a Consultant in Medicine must be having MD degree & registered with State Govt as Medical Dr. A Consultant in Engineering must be BS/BE/BTech degree holder, say in Civil Engineering & registered as Engineer with State Govt, etc.
