Very clear. I'm interested because I research mosquitoes and a common question I hear is, do mosquitoes have host preference based on blood type. The answer is no but I'm not clear on the effects of blood type on mosquito fitness. There seems to be a difference between hosts but it may not be related to blood type. Great presentation, doc 👍

@@tamaraspillis612 Only if blood type influences how lysis proceeds but my assumption would be that it doesn't involve transmembrane proteins.

Nice video! 17:50 I think you mean O- individuals produce anti-A and anti-B antibodies (not antigens), and on D antigen “challenge” will also produce anti-D antibodies? Greetings from Germany! 18:15 Same here

so if i have been told i am Rh negative can i also be Rh null
@StrongMed3 жыл бұрын
Theoretically yes. Conventional Rh testing of a person who is Rh null will give an "Rh negative" result. However, the Rh null phenotype is profoundly rare. Also patients who are Rh null typically have a mild hemolytic anemia that usually would be suggested by abnormalities seen in routine blood tests (CBC, complete metabolic panel).
