Hey Matthew R what exactly are YT trolls? Is it just the people giving him a hard time?
@shadetreegiants94079 жыл бұрын
A KZbin troll is an anonymous person who writes a negative comment just to get an emotional response out of others. They usually live in their mom's basement and wear pajamas all day. Rather than just unsubscribing from a channel, they feel the need to try to hurt others. It's sad really. It's really common because most people feel tough when their account is anonymous.
@SouthMainAuto9 жыл бұрын

I really like how informative Eric the car guy is and watch many of his videos which have been a lot of help. In this case I can help as well. There is an easier way replacing the rear trailing arm bushings by using a specific tool by Schley 65100 by SP tools. This will allow you to press out the original bushing and install a new one with a minimal amount of effort and time. I would also stick with original Honda OEM replacement bushings. Make sure you measure yours and do research since there are several that are availble and you might run into some trouble if they are not the right spec.
@mclarenfung9 жыл бұрын
that 's eg/dc/db ,if u wanna change the bush...just remove some 12mm and 10mm bolts(abs ,e brake ) unneed to remove the rear brake and hubs.. disconnect the 14mm and 2 17mm bolts ,use a wood the get lower the control arm .. use a 2lbs hammer put the old bush out easily ..i also do that
@saywhat91589 жыл бұрын
Oldie but a goodie. My question is how can this improve handling when the original bushing was designed for lateral movement which actually makes the oem version more prone to failure with only two connection points of rubber. Isn't there a con to this replacement type since you would expect it to be originally designed this way if it was better since it's a simpler design or is this a case of "design for failure" for future revenue streams.

I did this for my 99 SiR, and to get the trailing arm bushing in and out, I think I just used a hammer to knock the whole thing out, and a hammer to put a new one in. It's been many years since I did it, so I don't recall completely. But I don't recall it being hugely difficult.

Cool retro vid, Eric! :) Really enjoyed watching it. I did a similar job on a 91 CRX siR, fitted ES bushes to the RTA and put coil overs on. What a PITA!!... I stupidly tried taking the compensator arms off (little arms that adjust rear toe), one bolt was seized in the bushing and it pushed the captive nut off of the rail inside the chassis!! :(. I quickly learnt that if you need to remove the RTA's leave the compensator arm on the car and unbolt it from the RTA itself!

a piston ring compressor does the same thing as those clamps to slip in the new bushings, just use plenty of lube.
@TyWeMc9 жыл бұрын
After drilling the holes between the two metal pieces, instead of using a torch use acetone. Put some acetone in a spray bottle and apply liberally to all parts of the bushing, then you will be able to pry it out or use a stout awl to pick the rubber out. Reapply as necessary. I had much more success with that than using a torch. It's a lot safer and easier to do it that way. It also leaves a nicer finish on the inside diameter of the old bushing sleeve. A very good alternative.

This is going to seem random on this video, but I'm hoping a bunch of people with car knowledge may be able to help. Car is a 1985 gti 8v, driving car and suddenly hear a bang and car dies completely. I haven't tried to hand crank the engine because its 2:40 am here right now. Symptoms; when I turn key I here fuel pump, plugs are fine, battery is fine, alternator is fine: when I try to crank the car I get a single thud then no crank(lights shine into neighbors, so I haven't tried to light dimming test). I was assuming something in the starter relay is bad(starter, solenoid, etc), but I cannot pop start the car either. So, i'm guessing my engine is seized and im screwed, but cant check for many hours. Hoping to get some insight on the off chance it turns over freely as to what I could possibly be dealing with. Thanks in advance... I hope.
