Erie Canal Trail, NY (365 miles)

Thanks, the trail has been in great shape everywhere we rode this year and two years ago. The maintenance crew does a super job. We love the trail!

Great video..there's so much to see and do along the Erie Canal Trail. I've ridden the section between Lockport starting at the 'Flight of Five' locks to Brockport. Plan to ride the rest of the trail in 'bits and pieces' to Albany some day. Just about any bicycle will do excepting maybe 'road only' bikes with skinny high pressure tires (there are some bumpy sections and sections with coarse gravel) and multi-speed bikes are better for the sections with uphill grades. Spectacular foliage along the canal during fall. And the many towns along the way have places to eat and interesting shops.

We’ve rode about 90% of the off road trail and enjoyed it all! East and west of Rochester are totally different experiences!

In 2019 I lost my leg and I have an electric bike do they allow electric bikes? That was something you start out two women and when you're done there's a man and a woman at the end of the trail.

I don't even have a car I will get on their Trail at Albion are there any places to take a shower or camp I'm going the hard way or charge your e-bike?

I used my RideKick trailer to help me up the hills with my recumbent. I did not read anything that said you could not use an electric bike. We saw people riding them. Our friend was riding with us the first day!
