Erik + Christine (+ Raoul) | genius has turned to madness {The Phantom of the Opera MV}

We tend to forget that The Phantom of the Opera was originally a horror story, not a romance (lol)
I recently reread the novel by Gaston Leroux and it inspired me to make this horror edit, I hope I don’t offend too many Phantom and Christine shippers (haha)

I love Erik and Christine together. I do believe she did love him, she was a fearful child who ran to Raoul out for safety and friendship. Ok she did love Raoul but only as a child not a full grown woman who could have understood what her heart should have known. As Erik says in the book “curiosity killed the cat” yes it was a horror story. But the tragic passionate love Erik bares for Christine is just heartbreaking. I’m a hard E/C shipper woman.

I am a huge fan of the Phantom and Christine, I do think they belonged together, but I still loved this tribute. There is a strong dark element to the film that your video captured perfectly and it worked so well!
