I always enjoyed the contrast between the cool, level headed, by-the-book Officer Baker, and the free spirited, gregarious, and fun loving Officer Poncherello. Larry Wilcox was the real deal, he saw combat during the Tet Offensive in Viet Nam, and brought a certain amount of authenticity, leadership, and realism to his role as Jon Baker. The show was always enjoyable to watch, but never quite the same after he left.

I watched these guys while growing up. Now I’m still watching them all over again on prime. It seems like times were a lot better than. It’s sad to think they didn’t get along in real life, they look like the best of friends. Both talented actors. Thumbs up from Honolulu.

They actually said it was only while the show was going on and both had ego problems at the time. Understandable. When they got back for the filming of CHiPS 99, they have been nothing but the best of friends since. They even did a nation wide tour together for that movie and now do these shows all across the Country.

I remember speaking to Larry Wilcox on an american radio show. I rang in from England remember him saying hi Nicole no my name is Nicola. Asked him a aquestion i was so nervous but he was so sweet. I think it was 10 or 15 years. Found out about on his promoters facebook page. But the chance of meeting both of them will never happen.

Great guys ,great show I saw Erik in airport 75 then when chips was first shown here in the London area of ITV on Sunday evening first thing I noticed was Eriks pure white Hampsteads ,he didn’t need his headlight ,I’m enjoying its rerun on satellite channel ,I’m still in love with Cindy Cahill

@@tomsmith3479 i think even before that. They both said they had an amazing time for CHiPs 99 and even went on a year long tour promoting the movie together. They had a big rift when the show was going on. Really an ego thing, thinking each one was the one big star of the show.
