Erik has the right attitude here, because it would be easy to say it's just preseason and give the players a free pass, but that just leads to complacency. He's building the right mentality in the players here by not letting things slide. It's like when you're 2-0 up, if you let complacency slip in you could lose the game..

He's definitely right but he said almost the same things during last season and nothing changed. I hope this season is different, just a bit tired of hearing these same quotes game after game. On to the next one hopefully we look much better with the main XI. I will say it's a pretty bad look on Casemiro and Hannibal who both played awful, because both of them should be on the hotseat and need to prove people wrong.

Like last season he probably never knew how anything was going to play out, and his "bosses" would judge him by how the media reacted. And I suppose the pressure is off him now too because he's not making all the big decisions.

My concern is even though only a few starters played, the team displayed little urgency or looked like they knew what to do. Just like last season. If players cannot adapt to a certain style of play then you bring in a style suited to their abilities. Ten Hag must have missed that memo

I've heard "There is a standard in Manchester United, we win games" almost everyday for the past 10 years, especially in the last 5 not only from players and managers but also ex players and pundits it has become a sort of a get out of jail buzzword to excuse a bad performance. It has lost all meaning to me. I'm not saying this particular result matters because it's pre season and it's more important to get our fitness up, but it's something I'm aware of.

I am with ETH and its only pre season but one thing is common from last season we conceded a late goal. Whether its the senior team or not mentality should be developed from the base... I don't want to watch us conceding late goals again , a clear message to ETH....
