I hate how little screentime he got here. Yeah he wasn't as strategically interesting but it would've been a lot more compelling to see how Erik did redeem himself from his blunder in Micronesia, and he honestly had such a devastating end with his medical evacuation. He made it to the final 5 twice, which is no small feed. I would've preferred to see him a lot more than Brandon and Phillip. He and Brenda were both shafted edit-wise this season and it's a shame cause they're both such compelling players.

I wish we saw more of Erik as well as Brenda/Sherri/Eddie. The end game became really predictable, once Cochran was the only player with a winner's edit. I get that the show tried to downplay Erik so his exit wouldn't feel like it completely changed the outcome (which it likely did), but he didn't have to be completely ignored either.

As much as I hate the editing for Cochran this season of “look how amazing he is” there was no way Cochran was gonna let Erik get to the end he’s not dumb, but as much as I don’t like Cochran he probably would’ve beat Erik

@@jiro110idk but you can get a sense which ones made the edit and which ones didn't because im pretty sure anything that makes the edit features the name chyron in the lower left corner and anything that doesn't doesn't have that, though theres some exceptions to that rule since iirc anything from a secret scene is also given that chyron ? (versus bonus confessionals) i could be wrong abt that last part tho another tell is that is if a scene is in lower quality then the rest of the video, it almost certainly didn't make the show proper

Erik is I think one contestant to be on both sides of the coin in terms of a casting twist where both of his seasons were Fans vs Favorites he was a Fan in Micronesia and a Favorite in Caramoan

6:00 The reason I hated the Black Widows. They destroyed Reichenbach's trust. He was such a good guy and really athletic. I really do believe he was smart and out-thought himself with the unbelievably foolish immunity giveaway. I also hated his edit in Caramoan because he had barely any screentime and he was one of my favorites. I think I actually forgot he was still in the game a few times during that season.

@@eagerturtle4791 That was actually a blessing in disguise. The second he found the idol, Cochran was already thinking about ways to manipulate and trick him. Giving away the idol to Andrea, someone Cochran already saw as a strategic threat, and let everyone just think he's an idiot who gave immunity away again, was honestly the best thing he could have done for his game at that point.

@@roger_towny_jr Yeah, I actually think Erik had some decent strategy for not taking the idol. He recognized after all the Malcolm idol shenanigans that finding an idol publicly would put a huge target on his back and get himself voted out, like what happened to Andrea. As you said, it also helped solidify his clueless image and downplayed his threat level. Obviously the show airs a confessional from Cochran making fun of him though, instead of giving Erik the chance to justify his move.
