Lmao there's a time and place for irons... A 22lr at 200 is worth having a scope.. a old war rifle like a mosin nagant or Mauser at 500 yes it's worth having a scope. a super modern Gucci laser beam in 6.5 or something fast it's not so much a need but it lets you adjust your impacts way easier

Off the subject of the topic of this video a little but I had to say this here. I just got my EC Tuner Brake for my 300 PRC build and first impressions are great. Simple packaging with a little humor. NO excess. No instructions, if you are ordering one of these, you don't' need it. No extra allen wrench that you have a hundred of lying around that you can't find anyway because they come in every other package that you get. I'm looking forward to competing in the Blackjack Challenge next year.

I doubt open sights is going to be able to do it with 2-inch targets at 500 yards. Bullets would have to be one hole at 500 yards to even think about it. There will always be enough wind drift even on a calm day to make it impossible on those 2-inch targets.
@CCW1911

The limitation is seeing a two inch target at 500 yds, there are plenty of iron sighted guns with enough accuracy potential just need a more visible target.

Inability to tune magazines and choosing rounds that are not well suited for the magazine plus not being fed with crf. Push feeds are a hope for the best kind of thing if you don't have them tuned right. Crf gives you a better chance at suboptimal setups working. Most of these setups are pretty tame. I've got a couple that are way off in the weeds of "that shouldn't work" but they work for me. Like my .510 whisper.

Awesome video! What camera are you using for the target/spotting camera?

Someone out there can accomplish the opensite challenge. Just need a good day with no wind. And a great spotter. There has to be a team out there can pull it off. What these guys did today was incredible in that wind.

243 is not a good 500 yard round. I had a 3x9 Leupold sighted in at 100 yards and in order to hit at 500 I had to aim Kentucky at the right side leg of the hanger. I don’t know what the wind was but I no longer shoot a 243. I also had a Hunting rifle. So he has more speed than what I had. But open sights 243!!! That’s impressive….

Main difference is the barrel and the twist to be able to push 108’s fast. It’s a 0.350 moa rifle.
