Congrats! I retired 10 years ago from 45 years as a toolmaker, aircraft, marine, conventional and maintenance Machinist. Partly before there were any CNC machines. It was fun while it lasted. I do miss it a bit but I sold all my instruments/tooling so I guess I’m done working. I don’t miss wearing steel toe boots. They ruined my feet, which took 5 years to overcome. Just be sure to proof each program. B/C if the machine crashes, it will be time consuming and maybe expensive to fix.

Erik when you get a chance clean the glass on the inside of the machine and apply some rainx it will help with the coolant from blurring your visual on the door glass.

Also, car wax works good too. But you gotta make sure the glass is super clean before you apply the car wax. I'd go with Mothers Brazilian wax.

Hey Eric, if those inspectors ever order a tuner-brake, do them the way they did you. Naa, i know you'd never stoop that low. This will be over soon. You are THE man.👍💪 I will need two of these gems. 😎

Great job Erik! I’ve never even wanted to run a barrel tuner, but I’m going to buy one now simply because I feel like I was there pulling the cables and digging the ditches! Next up: EC Tuner suppressor!

I’ve been analyzing my tuner and I’m very impressed. I’ve gotten lucky with it I guess, I have a 153.5 6.5 mm Berger load that would give me an occasional flier, but now I do not get this random flier. The flier would open up my group in the 0.5”’s for five shots. After adjusting the tuner brake and 6-5 shot groups, I haven’t had one flier!!!! Now this load stays in the 0.2’s-0.3’s constantly, no exaggeration!!! This is a 20 pound field rifle, not an f-class rig so this precision level with extremely low single digit es’s, this load is producing very tight vertical groupings out to 2300 yards with great success. I appreciate you making such a nice product. Also, after using most top end brakes, I have to say this tuner brake is one of the most efficient brakes I’ve used. Very nice!!!

You’re getting there Erik! Putting the biggest hurdles behind you. You are the type of guy who says “I’ve never done it before, but I know how. Take it one step at a time and never stop starting. Simple”. Of course, none of this project was simple, but you didn’t let that stop you. You get things done when others spend their time explaining why they can’t do it.

Reminds me of my journey when I got my previous job to buy a Doosan CNC lathe. We used Iscar Cham-drills and those things cut holes like butter until the shop guy forgets to remove the coolant plug and runs them dry. The pilot drill in that program snapped in the hole and the following tools in the program broke trying to finish the program out. That was a $500 mistake that you learn once. Doosan also sent us a clock as a gift. We mounted it on the wall behind the lathe. Weeks later, our shop guy crashed the lathe so hard that the clock fell of the wall and broke too. Fun times though.
