I worked on rings of power. Lots of problems in production, from my perspective the worst part about working on it was that for almost the whole production, there was no digital communication allowed. No emails, no texts. Some departments even had to turn in their cellphones during work hours. I never saw a single script while working on it. We all signed NDAs to get hired on it so technically the legal framework was there to stop leaks. Then again, there were a few people who got fired for taking photos behind the scenes. Also to Bob’s point about fixing issues during production, there was a point late in production where they fired one of the leads and reshot all of their scenes which pushed the schedule back like crazy. Even though all of that is not that crazy for tv production, I definitely recall thinking “they are 100% pissing money away on purpose to market it as the most expensive series ever made.” The decisions around how it was produced made no sense.
