2 years on 10mg of Citalopram. It’s been positively life changing for me. I had such bad anxiety I couldn’t leave my house when I would I would have a panic attack, throw up, or my stomach would get upset and I’d have diarrhea. I was contemplating quitting my job I had been at for 3 years, was an absolute wreck. I’m was back to normal in about 2 months of starting, no longer get social anxiety, my PMS mood swings are no longer an issue. I can still feel sad, but only when warranted, not over small things. I also let small annoyances go instead of lingering on it and thinking about it for days.

@@markie1232 try it, just do the low dose 10mg, but just know the side effects will make you feel worse and more anxious initially as your body adjusts. Most side effects went away after a week or two, I started feeling great after 4-6 weeks. A lot of people that down the medicine and say it was awful, I’ll ask how long they were on it and they always say a few days to a week, I’m like well yeah it’s not truly effective for 4-6 weeks so you can’t really take their opinion too seriously. They are basing it off of side effects that are temporary.

no I have never felt like a zombie on 10mg, as far as weight gain yes, but not a lot and not necessarily a bad thing. My anxiety would kill my appetite, I was getting very thin and some days I would only eat 2-3 granola bars. Now I’m able to eat normal meals. I’m still thin but healthy looking now
@Theoaktreee420692 жыл бұрын
The only symptoms I got was decreased appetite, slight nausea and I felt very tired but that only lasted for about a week and the symptoms started to clear up, please don’t be put off by the side effects, I almost stopped taking citalopram after 2 days but I convinced myself to stick to them for atleast a month and honestly that was the best decision of my life, I can actually live my life normally now, my mindsets improved and I’m a lot more organised, my heads a lot more clearer and I feel so much happier, so even if you may feel bad for the next few days, you’re doing this to benefit your future self and you’ll be so grateful that you started them. I know starting new medication can be scary but your doctor wouldn’t of prescribed you them if they thought you’d have a bad reaction, also it’s really important to be patient with the meds, after about two weeks I felt better but I was still getting panic attacks, I only felt the full effects at about 6 weeks, but you might start to feel them at 4 weeks, you’ve got this Update: I’m now on 20mg

Then I started having chest pains like heart burn and I would get these symptoms suddenly all at once while at work and would have to leave early. And then on top of all that my anxiety was peaked so I’d be anxious then have symptoms all day and be panicked by night thinking something’s wrong with me. Being in my depressed state, I expected it to be a life changing experience after the first dose, and when it wasn’t. I was very discouraged, and sorta never gave them a chance. I then found out what a fool I was being, and gave them a second shot. Let me tell you. They aren’t gonna change your life. You aren’t gonna want to wake up and conquer the world everyday, but it is a tool. That can give you that little push. Sometimes that’s all you need. After the first week, I was ok. I find that I stir a lot more during the night, and if I wake up, my mind is going 100 mph thinking about all sorts of stuff, and it’s difficult to nod off again. Now, 3 months later, I’ve calmed down to the point that my best mate said he has never seen me so chilled in 20 yrs of knowing me. Around 2 years ago I got into a bad habit of forgetting to take my daily 40mg citilopram. I ended up taking 2 or 3 a week, usually when I felt a tripping sensation. I'd take a tablet and feel better the next day. Then a year ago I started getting palpitations (rythem flutters), almost ten to twenty tines a day. I was worried I has a heart condition. I didn't know about this side effect, but it clearly makes sense. I'm going to get back into daily and in 6 months reduce to 20mg as a goal while working on my psnic attacks, fears and anxiety. I had anxiety just thinking about starting Celexa, but I finally decided to take half the dose of 10mg, so I started with 5mg. I am very sensitive to medications, even OTC, not allergic, I just seem to have a greater reaction to them. So I took my third dose last night, and I started to get very anxious after an hour. It was like all of the issues that cause my anxiety were happening at the same time. Fear of having a seizure, heart issues, breathing issues, kidney failure, etc etc, and an all-around feeling that something bad was going to happen. I had restless legs, some leg and arm weakness, nausea, insomnia, clammy and cold hands, and overthinking. So I didn't get much sleep. I've read over and over that symptoms may get worse at first, so I don't want to quit now. I take my pill at night because I'm too nervous that I will have a bad reaction during the day while im at work or out in public. Thinking of that alone makes me sweat. But I hope these initial side effects don't last longer than a few days, just horrible. I will update.

Its already been 12 days and its had a better effect at controling my fears. I just feel chill, thats how I can describe my attitude. No intruding thoughts, no waking up with the fear of anticipating something bad. I think that any thoughts of anxiety are due to my own suggestive thinking. Like I knew what my triggers were so its hard to change my mindset, and in the end I dont have any episodes. I spoke to my doctor 2 days ago and he said it takes 6-8 weeks to see its full effect. Words cannot describe how relieved I am to have found something that has truly helped me! I think the best thing was for me to start off at such a low dose because it eased into my system. hey Erik, i’ve had 2 seperate cases of severe panic disorder for about 3 years on and off, i used to take lexapro on the smallest dose, 2.5mg and then 5mg and it really helped me overcome my disorder completely the first time (end of 2019 into 2020) but when i got panic disorder a second time (end of 2020) from smoking weed, I noticed not much of an impact on the same dose 2.5mg but i was told multiple times to up my dose for it and i was too scared to so i quit the medication cold turkey, and got insane migraines/headaches (thinking someting in my head was gonna pop it was so bad) as a withdrawal i think and for the past year I’ve been medicine free but I still get panic attacks everyday (heart races everyday nonstop, evil bad thoughts), and I’m ready to get back on something, my doc prescribed me celexa but I’m very unsure about trying it Bc I’ve been so used to take lexapro and I’m just wondering what ur opinion would be, thank u so much for the video also u rock!!

My doctor has me taking Celexa, he never has me in his office for more than 2 minutes & writes that I need to take four or five 30mg Celexas at a time. I told him that it causes a high pitched long screeching sound or a slow pulsing screech (gradually increasing to high pitch tones & repeats) that goes from 8 to 37+ hours, I rarely get any sleep in general (maybe at least 12 to 19 hours sleep through in a week's time) & mentioned various amounts of other side effects I get. I'm constantly drinking so much water that I'm bloated, I can't seem to make myself to eat anything no matter how hungry I actually am, only managing to consume one small meal through the entire day. Occasionally my hands get heavy trembling that makes my effected muscles ache for up to 5 days, mostly causing strain on the middle of my spine. My Doctor just mocked me saying that I should take seven or ten Celexa pills at once like some of his other patients do to sleep through the entire day to get past it. Which sounds far too dangerous, I don't even want to take anything he recommends to me any further seeing how careless my doctor is.

Then took 3 weeks to get a note for my work for what i can and cant do but he was going off what his assistant told him from what i sent as a email but it was not told to my dr in the way i was explaining new problems so i got fired rehired cuz i sent my work screenshots of all me and my dr message so she could see how he was treatibg me and not careibg.
