This movie scared the shit out of me - I was 14 when it came out. I grew up in a nice suburban tract like the one in the film and everyone seemed fake, all the time. In my adult life I've actively avoided tract housing and live in an old fixer-upper in a tight-knit village instead.

I first watched this on a flight from London to NY, en route to Nevada. Great movie. I recall thinking and wondering at the time why Lester was so angry and bitter, and I felt it was a very dark movie. Now that I’m almost 30 years older than when I watched it, I understand him completely, and I now find it comic. Great holiday. Great memories. And finally….great days!
