David, I have bookmarks for 25-30 artists and I check their schedules regularly. There is a new feature that has been started at blog.musicscribe.com/ called Bus Stops (was part of the Monday News Nuggets but will start being published separately on Tuesday this week) that gives a list of artists and the states they'll be in the following weekend. That might be helpful to you, too.
