You know what thank you for this! I’m 38, a year ago I became a widow and I constantly worry about people judging me. Sometimes I refrain myself from wearing a pretty dress because in my head I think every one of my neighbors will judge me and I’m tired as hell of that feeling. I’m not going to wait until I’m 50 to not give a crap about what anybody says or think! 🙏 ☺️

I’m 35 and I say don’t let anyone hold you back I say do wear whatever you want to as long as it makes you feel good. I spent most of my 20s nursing a broken back and I’m not letting anything stop me from doing what I feel like. I recommend the “life changing magic of not giving a f*ck” by Sarah Knight it helped me a lot with this (Warning she curses a lot) Wish you well 💜💜💜

I love her! I’m 51 & it’s not that you stop caring, it’s just that once you reach 50, you realize that all the stupid sh*t you worried about in your 20’s, 30’s & 40’s really doesn’t matter. You realize what’s really important and you re-prioritize.

@Peter Evans It's not about "not caring about" it's getting a better understanding of when it will really be worth causing a fuss and when it is better to leave people to work through their own drama. A 'karen' in this context would be someone who has not learned how to stay out of situations yet.

Yes there is , instead of a midlife crisis ‘I’m getting old’ boo hooing ‘ , to me it was more of feeling of ‘ I’ve arrived to a higher plateau in life ‘, not as in believing I’m better than anyone , just more like it’s all downhill from here and I’m going to enjoy the ride , going uphill is the hard part ,,so .Wheee ! .., just keep your hands inside the ride to avoid bodily injury , lol ,,sorry I’m laughing while writing this and obviously not caring if I make a lot of sense , oh my word,,belly laughing so hard right now ( and it’s remarkable how good that feels to laugh so hard after all this doom and gloom with the pandemic ,,,near crying because of how welcoming it is to have endorphins flowing, like my body almost forgot how good laughter feels ,,, one of my first thoughts was “ I’m a half century old now and can do what I want when I want I earned it ! , and I have a LOT of ‘been there , done that ‘ in my previous years ..... Next ? < as in what’s new to do ,,, 😝, what Can I do for me today , or do nothing at all if I don’t want to. Enjoy life , we indeed earned it !

Yes, it is true. I am a 58 year old woman who went thru my 20's, 30's & 40's dreading the 2 questions I always got: 1. Why aren't you married? 2. Why don't you have children? I always felt like there was something wrong with me or that others would think there was because I never married or had kids. I wanted to but was horrible at relationships! When I hit 50, I felt suddenly free. People stopped asking me if I was married, and didn't ask me about children. I realized it was okay to be single And not have to feel embarrassed about it. Turning 50 was wonderful!

@Sarah Marie you are absolutely right about women’s uterus as being a vessel for another life. There should be a class ( mandate even) for those who wants to have kids to take and pass with high marks before they can have kids. My parents have 9 kids but they are the best parents to me.
@thnkr0917
@thnkr0917 2 жыл бұрын
@Sarah Marie Really, what Mom other than a comedian joking, really wants a whole lot of credit for giving birth? I don't know what circle YOU run in but everyone I know is a Mom and NO one really lists that as her first thing to be proud of, so much as being proud of her kids, so it's basically a non-issue that you used as an excuse to bash women....over a comedian who meant it as a friggin joke!! Anyway, Karen, I mean Sarah to answer your comment, I dunno if you have children, but pushing a baby's head out of your va-jay deserves credit whether a Mom asks for it or not. You do realize that a woman can die from childbirth even in the USA right? A woman risks her LIFE every time she gives birth, especially in less developed countries. No one would dare bash a service member because they may have to give their life for this country, but a Mom who may have to die to give birth shouldn't dare take credit for that!! People, btw, are also so anxious to take a woman's choice about a pregnancy away from her, but they are real quick to tell her that giving birth and choosing life is also not anything to be proud of. Of course, people who are also fantastic parents should get more and separate Kudos, but that is a whole different subject. Sarah, do you tell YOUR mother how little her giving birth to you means to you? You should tell your OWN mother how you don't appreciate her sacrifices so that you can exist. Shame on you. Also, we give men all kinds of father's day/dad credit for their sperm-donorship, no matter how involved they are and they never had to risk one bit of their health or 9 months of their lives or risk dying for that honor. Let's talk about the next 18 years, because we all know the odds are that Mom gets the lion's share of THAT whole job, no matter what the fathers claim, and no matter how many Karens judge her, less than perfect, performance as a mother. If you can't be supportive of other women, then at least keep your negative opinion to yourself. I'm super tired of women bashing other women! Mothering is hard and it's really pathetic for a WOMAN to be that way toward other women when we get enough of that from men. Your not a messenger, your a karen, complaining about a comedian by bashing other women because you were literally looking for something to complain about, so you just had to lay into, WHAT, women having pride in giving birth?! Geez.

@dablklika Most of us enjoy her stories and are entertained by her. Comedy is about wittiness and smart observations. Doesn’t have to be uproariously funny. I’ve watched enough comedies to tell you that some of the “uproariously funny” ones makes one feel empty afterwards. They are vulgar for the sake of being vulgar thinking it’s funny & the content is zero. I truly enjoy her smooth delivery and great content & story-telling. It keeps me hooked.

I've worked at Walgreens for three years now and have taken soooo many passport pictures for a few different kinds of passports (we do passport pictures for more than just US citizens and follow guidelines for whichever country the photos are for). I get reactions from people all the time who go, "wait, I can't smile or wear white??" I sympathize (though I'm numb to it at this point), and explain that the goal is essentially a "friendly mugshot", which often gets either a giggle or an annoyed huff followed by a perfect passport photo every time (you're welcome). Babies are my favorite though since we just have to get them to look at the camera, which is always an adorable and comical experience every time since they're always looking everywhere except at the camera. 😂 Edit: I'm two decades from 50 but I already feel the vibes of not giving a sh*t about what anyone thinks. Life is too short to fuss around with things that are beyond our control, plus my partner and I have daily rant sessions with one another to help sort our thoughts out before settling into our routines. However with the worker "shortage", I am at least a little gracious towards those who show up to their miserable jobs. Retail employees don't get paid enough for what they put up with, not to mention the lack of workers puts an unreal amount of strain on those who chose to stay - they are not compensated for the additional workload either. Be kind to those who serve you, because many of them don't get to take their mandatory breaks anymore and they're exhausted from the constant demands from customers (not to mention that product shortages are not the fault of those who stock the shelves). Kindness goes a long way ❤

I had my 51st B-day.....3 weeks after, we were in lock down. It was then that I let my hair go without dying it, stopped wearing makeup and grew fond of wearing comfy leggings, t-shirts and flat shoes (cute one's like lace up boots), and mastered the top messy bun hair style. It was then I realized......I have not "let myself go", but I just don't CARE what people think as much as how I feel.. Very liberating and freeing. Nice comedy set Karen! ( I am sure you guessed where the 1.8K thumbs down were from.....and I am certain you just don't care!~)

Don't say "let yourself go"... You've let yourself FREE!!! we spend way too much time trying to make others like us by looking a certain way, wearing certain things... Being free to be me takes on a WHOLE new meaning as you head to 50, I'm 46 and can feel myself becoming more me every day.

@@furthereast6775 She refers to her husband throughout the performance and also has her ring on:) You know, when you have a house full of children, a career, a home and property to maintain, family obligations, possibly active children in sports and things, maybe take care of elderly family members, have community obligations, and so on, let me tell you, you get exhausted. We have all of that going on and more in our household, and while our intentions to spend one on one time together are good, let's call it "date night," we rarely seem to get there at this current life stage. It doesn't mean we don't love each other, but instead that we are mature and selfless enough to understand that at this point in our life there are sacrifices for the family. So, quite often when we get a few minutes alone, we are happy to just take a nap together quick because we know that we will get our personal life back again after we have handled our obligations and finished raising our wonderful sons and making them well rounded successful and truly loved individuals. We know that we have the rest of our lives. Also, our older friends have reassured us that the second time around going through the dating stage is even better because you've weathered it all together and now your spouse is also your partner in crime(like playing practical jokes together on your children kinda crime) and best friend so to speak😉 So it's all good. Y'all take care now.

@@furthereast6775 too bad your narrative is so myopic…to think someone can’t have a “love life” when they decide to drop the conditioning from society. Maybe examine where you get your thoughts (beliefs) about what constitutes the “right” set-up for a love life??? If it’s rigid standards of what “should” be, take a good, deep, analysis of who set those standards and when you took them on as your beliefs. Too often we believe things that are handed down to us (almost a program downloaded) without any consideration of if we are choosing that consciously or not!! Sounds like the lady from the comment, did all that! She analyzed why she was doing the autopilot things…for others. Maybe you can analyze the autopilot thoughts that determine what makes a woman love life worthy or not…. Your thoughts can create more suffering than almost anything, for your self and others. They can be changed!

I’m also 51 and I’m sitting here in my home office with no makeup on and I’m actually wearing a VELOUR sweat pants suit because it’s cold. 😂 (I think it looks really cute though.) But, in all honesty, I would not leave the house like this. I still color my hair and wear makeup lol. But that’s just me, I’ll probably do those things when I’m 80.

I was dx with breast cancer yesterday. Funnily enough, I think I'm finally at the point in my life where I'm strong enough to stand up to it. Thanks for the great set. I loved it!

@11Renee11 I went through Hell trying to get the cancer treated. I literally had to change my health insurance plans, then start interviewing docs all over again, and each of the 4 docs involved, had a 1 month lead time to get in. So it took WAY too long to get the surgery, but I finally got that done in the spring, and then went thru 21 sessions of radiation. Now I'm on hormone reducers for the next 5-10 years, which have some horrible side effects (bone pain making it difficult to walk, for one). But I'm finally done with active treatment and I'm counting my blessings... not everyone in the world (or even in this country) has access to mammograms and other advanced Healthcare. Thanks for asking. 😄
