If you’ve never used an air filter these are great. kzbin.infoUgkx_dppjvjF8BYEmPSDTcgCUdRsgWYLXNHN I ended up with three after starting out with one. The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!

I have 3 diff types of air purifiers and nothing works like the dyson to take irritants out of my air, prob in the formaldehyde family from apt building
@KomodoSound3 жыл бұрын
For anyone here who wants a non-sponsored opinion on this product: I got this fan heater (paid for with my hard-earned cash) and I disagree with the reviewer on the noise level part. I find that the Dyson Hot+Cool Formaldehyde is obnoxiously loud, even on the lowest fan speed setting and in night mode. If I want to watch a youtube video or play some music while the fan is blowing, I will have to turn up the volume quite a bit in order to hear the video or the music, because the fan's noise is overwhelming and will cover everything. Especially annoying during zoom conference calls when you're trying to understand what a coworker is saying. I may try removing the formaldehyde filter part in the future to see if it reduces the noise, I assume the air has to push harder to move through this doubled filter layer. I also own the previous version of the Dyson Hot + Cool which cost half the price, and it was much quieter and got the job done just as well, and also had the remote control. The most useful feature of these Dyson fan heaters in my opinion is that if you have an older heating system in your flat or house that does not let you easily adjust the temperature for each room, you can set the temperature to about 19 °C (66.2 °F) on your main heating system, and then use the Dyson small heater to increase the temperature to your comfort level in the room that you spend the most time in (home office computer room in my case) and heat less the other parts of your flat to save money on heating. Also in the past, when I was living in a small studio apartment (about 20 m² or about 200 square feet), for a couple years I used the older Dyson Hot + Cool as my only heating system. And the remote control is very practical to adjust to your liking the temperature. The alternative for me was investing in a new modern thermostat system which could be ten times the price and harder to install. Bottom line : if you are looking for a solution to adjust the temperature of a small space, and you want a Dyson, I would get the older smaller Hot + Cool Dyson (non formaldehyde) for half the price. You won't miss out on anything.

Do we typically need to worry about formaldehyde in a bedroom if we decide to put a Dyson product there? No smokers. No pets. Windows are closed during the winter. There is not one real air purifier review site that recommends the Dyson air purifier devices. As a matter of fact, sites that have compared the Dyson Air Purifier fans to Levoit, BlueAir, Conway, etc air purifiers almpst always have the Dyson air purifier performance at the bottom of the rankings. Then, there is the price. If you want an air purifier, get one that actually performs well. I would look at the air purifier review sites who take a much, much more scientific approach to their reviews. I would actually say that this review is misleading as it infers that the Dyson air purifier is a good air purifier. Again, it is generally ranked at the bottom during any comparison reviews.

Thank you so much for the review. I got an email from Dyson about this product and am very interested. In 2016, I was exposed to very high formaldehyde levels with my work uniform. Since then, I developed asthma, chronic coughing and congestion. I wore the uniform for only 4 months and quit. However, other coworkers were still wearing it, so being around them was torture to my respiratory system. I was working in an enclosed environment, so it was difficult to avoid reaction. Even though I got rid of the uniforms - completely out of the house, I’m always wondering if any chemicals are lingering in my home. I appreciate the detailed review and will strongly consider the purchase. It seems worth it.

How efficieent it is both heating and cooling campared to a gree a+++ energie efficient mini split air con?
@nomad15173 жыл бұрын
As far as energy efficiency, on the highest setting, I believe it gets up to 26 watts, which is astoundingly low, they are also energy star certified. As far as filter efficiency, they get down to 99.97 of 0.3 microns and 99.95 of 0.1 making the filters medical grade. Many dentists and doctors have used Dysons in their offices as well as hotels schools etc. While some reviewers like Wirecutter gave Dyson an ok review, they don't take in many factors on how these machines are some of if not the best air treatment tools on the market. Most purifiers have crappy sensors, while Dysons are incredibly accurate, so if you run it on auto mode, the sensors don't over react to something that may not be present, which can save you not only on energy but also on filters. Speaking of filters, their filters never loose efficiency over time, at least they maintain a very high percentage of efficiency. Why is this, first, they are sealed systems, meaning, they don't let particulates escape from the filter through the fan. They have a rubber seal that makes sure nothing but clean air is coming through your purifier. Second, their filters are made with the highest quality fibers and are also very dense giving you very long filter life and efficient as well. The truly biggest factor is how they test. They don't use traditional testing methods like CADR. CADR has been used in the 80s, and doesn't give the bigger picture. It's not accurate in real world situations. Dyson uses POLAR. They talk about it on their website. But the bottom line is, Yes, as expensive as they are. They will last you many years, and not loose performance and have been tested not only by Dyson but by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, IBR laboratories, EN188, and have been partners with the American lung association. So yes, they are worth the money.

There are small gaps under each bedroom door…will it purify and heat those rooms when the doors are closed? Is air circulation noticeable? Typical energy consumption with average settings?

"I'm gonna check this information with our office, can I call you in a hour" - you can guess.. they don't.
