this game has one of the best level progressions i've ever seen. the first worlds are slow paced, and the last worlds just have none stop waves. there's even bonus extra levels that throw thousands of enemies at you. i think Midway made a big mistake moving away from the large polygon character sprites and into tiny pixel ones... this game is a LEGEND.

There was a 4-player Gauntlet at my local Golden Skateworld, which was right next to my daycare center, so they took us there all of the time in the 80s. New arcade games were always showing up there. Other games I can remember playing there are Double Dragon I & II, Two Tigers, Blasteroids, TMNT, Dark Adventure, Crystal Castles, Rush’n Attack, Gauntlet, NARC, P.O.W., & Genesis pinball.

Wow, super nostalgic! I remember playing this back in the day. It was great cause you could play with more than 2 people. One of my friends would always play the yellow wizard. When the announcer says, "The yellow wizard is about to die", it always sounded like he said, "The old wizard is about to die!" The little running jokes one remembers after all these years...

Very unexpected to see Mike Matei in your video! I watched AVGN for years until it became kinda stale, then watched James & Mike Mondays. :) I'd love a modern remake of this exact game. The new Gauntlet is not very good. Actually it was pretty decent and then they completely overhauled the game and it sucks now IMO. Doesn't feel like Gauntlet anymore. But yeah no I mean I'd love a Gauntlet Legends remake, it's very, very aged, but also an awesome game.

Honestly, we forgot about it. And at this point we'd have to start over but I'd be fine with it since I really like this game. So maybe someday!

I honestly enjoy them all but for different reasons. Spent most time with Dark Legacy with my elementary friends and my brother. Good memories... I miss my brother.
