This system is so broken, also it’s only in Scotland where you can’t get a lower grade than your mock.

@@ErinRivers the whole system is so confusing. I'm from Germany where everyone, unlike in the UK, sat their final exams (obviously with social distancing etc.) and I really don't get the whole "algorithm thing"

I remember watching your GCSE results videos and now you have already 'done' your a levels! Make sure you appeal for RE and Media is worth a shot! But be proud of yourself too I mean B's at A level are goood x

I’m from Northern Ireland and we got ours last week and so many people were downgraded, but on Monday they did a U turn and said that they will award our teacher predicted grades to us if they were higher. So my B in maths went up to an A! So many people have gone up.

I'm so sorry you didn't get what you were expecting, just remember that whatever happens it's meant to be and the universe is sending you a sign!! Your grades are still incredible but it's understandable that you'd want what you feel you deserved!!

God, the whole system is messed up. I saw a video of someone getting at A* in a subject when she got a C in her mocks, and I saw another video of someone getting a C when they consistently got As. How..? The government were like, "Oh the teacher's are being _too_ nice so let's completely throw that out of the window." and then tried to standardise it. Their whole aim was to make it look like our grade pattern was the same as last year (and the years before) but with the results out, we look worse than the other years! 40% of grades were downgraded! Also, I think the statement was that if your grade is lower than expected you can appeal and either use: your estimated grades, mock grades or grades from exams in Autumn (which ever is highest). That was the 'Triple Lock' system that good ol' Gavin thought was a good idea. At least, that's what I understand, I could be wrong though!

the government doesnt even seem to care about the grades the english students are getting even tho we're getting downgraded and scotland wont be anymore (once the grades get changed to the teacher predicted ones).... its really unfair on the year 13 that have been working so hard.. i wish you the best with whatever you choose to do next (i'd recommend appealing!)

Yeah, at least Scotland attempted to fix things. We're just left with a 'Triple Lock' system that half of Year 13 students have to appeal with. Why, Gavin? Whyyyy?

V late to this video but on results day I was given BCC when my school entered my grades as ABB so I got rejected from Uni of Birmingham (my firm) I also retook History in the autumn exams at got AAB (+ already had A* EPQ) and I’m now off to Durham Uni in September!!
