KZbin is amazing ,so many years waiting to listen this kind of composers. Is great to hear new Music, and you can make comparisons or notice that are "more" composers that really have to tell us something new and power. This concert really impress me. I've listen so many Concerts of minor composers, but this one is above most of them. What happen with this forgotten one? It's marketing? Something else? Bravo Erkki , your lenguage is amazing , solid with a clear ideas and full of technics , conterpoints and classical orquestration, but its in your planet when the magic arrive . Your own planet. The word Minor composer is subjective when you creat such a concert. Bravo and Danke!!!

Melartin is sadly disregarded even in Finland and left in the shadow of Sibelius. His 4th symphony, "Summer Symphony" is just fantastic work.

One of the most beautiful Romantic symphonies, imo. I always spend half the finale getting over the third lol

This stands up as a masterpiece just like all the other popular violin concertos that are being played today.

Sources say this work premiered almost simultaneously with the Sibelius and was more highly received.

OMGdns!! What a magnificent work. Too bad so few performers seem to know that Finland has produced more than one fine composer. This is a masterpiece, if I've ever heard one.

I discoverd this composer through his impressive second symphony dated 1904, and I am eager to explore his creations. His language is classical, but he has a quite personal style;often close to drama.

lovely music, thank you... do you know who did the painting? and do you know someone named Silvio Fernandez? He was an acquaintance who moved to Florida with a GInormous record collection; a true completist. He even collected Betamax tapes.
