Not directly related to video, but - for whatever reason my SH-01a is not receiving MIDI clock from erm. I have synth connected via usb and also via midi to erm. I set synth to sync to midi. But it doesn’t seem to react at all. I did manage to get erm to work with tr8s… thank you!!

Why does your E-RM VST plugin window look different? I'm running mine on Abelton, and all I get is the time signature selection.

Hey man, when u sending midi notes to synths with erm, is the erm connected by usb cable? I mean can u just connect it with audio signal
@MayenMusic Жыл бұрын
In order to send midi notes you have to use usb or a regular midi cable. To send clock from your DAW or hardware sequencer you can send audio tone to generate clock
@anthonyhughes26464 жыл бұрын
Thanks, How did you route the synths to the multiclock and midi channels ?
@MayenMusic4 жыл бұрын
You set it up in the midi matrix menu in the ERM Multiclock
@MadelnMachines Жыл бұрын
I'm very confused about this point. They say on their website: "The multiclock improves the timing of all instruments which are clocked by it. Nevertheless, you can not manipulate notes that you send from your DAW to your synths through the multiclock MIDI Interface. Keep your sequences in the internal sequencers of your external instruments or sequencers for tight lines!" Doesn't this mean any notes I send from my DAW to trigger external hardware synths will be laggy or out of sync?
@MayenMusic Жыл бұрын
Depends on your system more than the ERM Multiclock. What I’ve learned is that no machine is true with latency. It will get you close to 0 but never 0.

Hi, Thanks for the video. I am trying to send midi from ableton to a Model D synthesizer. The Model D receives the midi messages and plays, but the multiclock control to advance or retard is not working. In the video you do not show how you move the latency forward or backward with the Multiclock Knob.

Does the E-RM help with MIDI note latency? For example I always have issues with sending MIDI from a track in Ableton out to one of my synths and capturing the audio back... its never on the grid and the latency is seemingly always changing (can't figure out why of course! lol) so I can never set a static usable preset for my external instrument device in regards to hardware delay compensation. I would love to know if this device alleviates this issue or of it just helps with MIDI achieving a solid clock for external sequencers. Thank you for your videos :)

So I just upgraded to a new mac studio and that problem still exist even when I'm working with Maschine and internal Synths. I think that as long as it sounds good people won't really notice and it adds a little swing to things. The ERM Multiclock makes things a little tighter, but you will still have that

Hi there, i dint really understand what you did? I see two octatracks, but you dont record audio from them, you record midi from them right? How do you send the midi back? Usually i would dxpect that you record audio not midi like this. Do you send the midi from the octatrack back over the multiclock? If yes how do set it up in Multiclock? Edit: Saw your other video and understand what you‘re doing.

@@MayenMusic thanks for your message. All good. Kind of creative approach you went through, compliment you know Logic really good. Love the Multiclock, i‘m using it just basic, i think its already amazing that you could combine the clock signal with note on/off per each midi channel…For me its already a new world opened up…Good to know if i‘m once interested to dig deeper and use it like you do it with the Octa‘s, i know where to go👌🏻

I’m trying to sync my hardware with the daw using their plugin. There still isn’t a single tutorial that has worked your method isn’t working and or is so complicated to set up it isn’t relevant. I don’t use the same hardware you are but I’m simply trying to get the erm plugin to sync to the audio input on the multi-clock which is the most granular . The usb and the midi still suffer from jitter . I don’t understand why no one shows the actual install and setup of their plug in including ERM themselves. He octatrack isn’t a part of my set up . Obviously it’s your main Board. Very frustrating 😐😖

The way I use it is: erm plugin to an output of my interface number 4, then the output to the in of the erm with the clock coming from audio. I now use the cranborne 500r8. The channel that you have the plug-in on should only send signal to the output of your choice on your interface. It should not go to the master of the DAW.

@Mayen Music I have a Mackie 22.channel pro fx three mixer with usb audio on channel three and four for usb . Logic can see the mixer . Is there a way to use it instead of the UA spark Interface ? Cause this plug in is so far just sitting there with a chain link icon highlighted in pink within Logic Pro 10.7 it doesn’t even see the daw bpm which is ridiculous in 2022 as it is . But it responded to to nothing so it’s a wart on the chin of my workflow . What daw and computer are you using ? Ableton ? So much energy and time has been wasted on this shitty very expensive mystery device. And erm sits there ignoring me and you 👽

@@MayenMusic I had a firmware update done on it at perfect circuit three months ago . Coincidentally it corrects an issue we’re in the internal mode it would in fact stop sync after a few minutes. Even with the firmware update it still looses sync . It needs to generate its own AUDIO tone internally. Something they overlooked because everyone expects a computer to be present or Ableton live . Ridiculous and stupid . Presently it’s simply an add on to a computer for six hundred dollars that’s super reliant on their plug in . Stupid 👽
