Persistent and blood-thirsty little SOB's, aren't they? I've seen this kind of chase before and it almost always ends the same way. The stoat usually wears down the stupid squirrel - which could easilly escape by jumping tree-to-tree, but likes to do this circling thing - and locks on to his throat. Game over.

I was also thinking the squirrel could jump tree to tree to evade the weasel/ ermine. I recently saw another KZbin video where the squirrel did just that and the weasel fell many feet to the ground after missing the same jump.
