Sorry about that, I didn't even think about it until after I tore into it. But if you have any kind of buzzing that isn't part of the normal microwave sounds there's no other component that makes that sound, unless you have a broken fan maybe, but this is a common repair.

My 2 cents worth: There are MANY helpful videos on KZbin for diagnosing and repairing a buzzing or non working microwave. Here is a mini compilation: A faulty High Voltage Diode can cause the Magnetron to buzz and still work / or not heat at all. A faulty Magnetron can buzz and sometimes heat the food and sometimes not! A faulty transformer can make an annoying buzz under load but the magnetron may still make heat. (It is NOT always the Magnetron or High Voltage Diode causing the buzzing!) A faulty High Voltage Capacitor can keep the Magnetron from making heat. •It is cheaper to watch the various videos and learn how to test the pieces than it is to just guess and buy unneeded parts! •It’s worth the extra $12-$16 to replace the High Voltage Diode at the same time as the Magnetron. When removing the microwave from the cabinet, you should protect the range top below with a piece of plywood with a few heavy towels under it in case you slip while handling the unit. A friend repairs appliances, he said Do It Yourself handymen often try to save a few dollars and repair their microwaves by themselves but end up dropping the built in microwaves onto the range top and end up buying a new microwave AND a new range. He refers to it as “Good for Sales”! . •A clothes basket turned upside down on the range top and wedged under the microwave provides support when removing and re-installing the microwave into the cabinet. It’s very light and is a valuable extra hand when trying to hook the back of the oven to the wall bracket and holds it in place until you get the mounting screws threaded into place. With some common sense you can successfully repair your own microwave. No harm in trying to fix something you were going to throw away ! ALWAYS UNPLUG THE UNIT! ALWAYS DISCHARGE THE HIGH VOLTAGE CAPACITOR! Hope this helps someone! 🤞🏼

mine makes an unusual loud buzzing noise, the fan (noise) stopped working and it heats extremely fast in less than a minute at 100w. Could it be the fan that's broken or the magnetron as well?

The fan not working could be a secondary issue, but the buzzing noise is the magnetron going bad.

The magnetron in my microwave was buzzing and getting hot when when the microwave wasn't running. I bought and installed a new magnetron but it's still doing the same thing. Is it an issue with the transformer or possibly the capacitor?
@CarolinaCowboys3 жыл бұрын
If your Microwave is getting hot even when it's not running, that is definitely another issue since the magnetron only activates when the microwave powers on. Is your light always on inside the microwave?
@craigmankey90113 жыл бұрын
@@CarolinaCowboys I thought maybe it was one of the switches. I unhooked them one at a time and the buzzing stopped with the top one unhooked. I plugged them all back in and now the magnetron isn't buzzing or getting hot but it does make a high pitch whining noise that seems to be coming from the board. I can get a new control board off ebay for $30. Is it worth trying? The microwave seems to work fine now other than that whining noise.
