He is considered to be the greatest occultist, from whom the intellectual movement of Hermeticism originated. All of his books are full of esoteric and metaphysical knowledge, which of course are extremely difficult to interpret and understand, especially in our time away from both time and perception, where the concept of knowledge had a completely different background .
It is not easy to determine the age of these texts, since their ultimate origin is lost in Egypt during the Pharaoh era.
According to tradition, these texts were taught to the Mystics by the Egyptian priests long before Plato's time.
Whatever this is, this is an issue that no one can be sure of, because of the few things we have.
But there is the following peculiarity. If we accept that these texts really belong to Hermes Trimmesto, we must also accept that we have in our hands the texts of a God and not just a Philosopher, as in all other cases.
One of his most important books is "Poymandris", which is also the longest-lived text that we will deal with in this course.
