For a man who is lost, the three greatest dangers in order of importance, are Fear, Cold, and Hunger. He may endure extreme hunger for a week, and extreme cold for a day, but extreme fear may undo him an hour. There is no way of guarding against this greatest danger except by assuring him that he is fortified against the other two. Ernest Thompson Seton

Great presentation of your grandfather's life. I read the scouting party and found him to have the most character of the bunch.

Wahb: The Biography of a Grizzly was the first book I read of ETS in grade 2. From there my love of nature took off and I wasn't afraid of animals.

Just for some clarification, is she implying that there weren’t people already living in the land now known as Canada when her grandfather came to settle? Does she not realize that Indigenous people were living there?

No, she was stating simply that parts were lightly populated and other parts were not populated at all, as her grandfather wrote. That was true then and now.

@@WoodcraftLeagueOfAmerica she said “waiting unoccupied for immigrants”. That implies there weren’t people living there. I can assure you that land was “occupied”
