Just got these. The strings are just amazing. They do feel like they would be tougher on the fingers but James did mention that in the Ernie ball video that you would need some Metallica calluses to play these. They sound so chuggy and different. And boy that 50 is a big boy feels amazing to play

It's funny because I've been using the Power Slinky's consistently for a good 3 years , and would buy and swap out the 50 gauge single strings off the Internet for the 48 . But I guess these have a different core in them . The 50 is good gauge to pedal off of .

As a huge Metallica fan i had to try this set, if you are a casual player and use a lot of E Standart tunning you better off with the conventional .11-.48 set, but the .50 is awesome for lower tunnings, you can really tell the difference on lower ranges

Definitely appears to be no hint of sharpness when you hit them hard (James mentioned that issue in the ad for them), so it's nice to see it in your vid. In that regard, how do they compare with the power slinkies? Are the slinkies prone to pitchiness when played hard? Thanks for a nice review 🙂
@mattriffmaster

Power slinkies for me are best for half step down but the master core ones have a lot of brightness to them considering the low is a 50 which is great ! And they’re solid !

Hello everyone, maybe who knows, Hatfield uses a set of 11-50 strings only for the standard E guitar system. It's just that their guitars at concerts and albums Load/Reload are tuned half a tone lower. Not to mention songs like Sad but true, where one tone is lower. So the question is, which strings does Hatfield use in these cases, or are the same 11-50, just a little softer?

My Rhythm style is basically the percussive, downbeat syncopated style of James Hetfield. Stevie Ray Vaughan is my biggest influence as a Lead Player. I used to use Ernie Balls 10-52's. Then I switched to Daddario 11-53's and they just had this brightness too them. They stayed in tune better. And really they just felt better to me personally. Every Guitarist is different. My Lead style is very aggressive and intense because of Stevie's massive influence on me, and when you've been playing for, I believe it was 18 years at the time, your hands just become stronger and stronger. So a few years ago I switched to Daddario Heavy Gauge 54-12's and I immediately loved them. Yes I play and record in standard E tuning, but I use more mids and treble in the studio so my riff playing comes through clearly and not so chunky or meaty. My favorite guitar is the Explorer Shape because of James. As of right now I'm considering going up another gauge in string's because I keep bending mine way sharp or flat outta tune. Stevie Ray Vaughan played 56-13's and it was a custom set because sets that heavy didn't exist back then. There's my musical history as a Musician. I always like to share that whenever I watch a video from a Musician's channel I had never seen before. Cool Vid Man. Killer Tone! Take Care.🤘🏻🤘🏻

Do you need to file the nut or anything to put these strings on?
