A few thoughts: Slash likely gets a new set of strings every concert for each guitar (as his guitar tech is there anyway and he'll get the strings for free). This means every set of strings is highly unlikely to break. I also doubt his "beta testing" was very scientific, especially based on the fact he probably uses these strings as he makes the most money from endorsing this company. The tone from these strings? Undetectable to 99.9%+ of people at each concert when his guitar is plugged into his guitar rig. All very misleading!
@brucejsg7 жыл бұрын
Peter Walton True, his guitar tech already said he gets new strings every concert, and on guitars he uses for one song like the B.C ritch in YCBM it's every other concert. As for the $ for endorsement he does use this since the 80s when he started, so I doubt it's purely money, plus he's made enough money along the years to afford whatever string he wants lol

Sorry @ernieball, I really hate to burst your bubble, but im on my third set of paradigms, a gig broke the high e string twice, they corrode quite easily, the strength and durability claims you are making really arent ringing true, they go grey pretty quickly the strings, i had sets of em on my strat and sg and they havent lasted more than a week or two corrosion wise, elixir 10 gague sets seem to last and sound better longer, ive spoken to 20+ people about paradigms and everyones having the same problems, is there plans to address this? as its a serious concern of many users now and causing major problems, the amount they cost (18GBP) is ridiculous for what you get, theyre not as good as you say, can you please either provide what you plan to do to address this or at least provide details of what coating etc you are using on the strings as these are not lasting in any way shape or form, the only reason i decided to try a few sets was to see if i twas a bad batch but no, all bad, im willing to try again soon if you are correcting any issues as i do love the slinky tone (i use them exclusively in studio) but having to rely on elixir at the moment live due to the paradigm strings corroding far too quickly

I have tried paradigms on all my guitars, i have an RG350MZ (retrofitted with an edge pro tremolo), a g400 SG, an 83 jv HH strat, and all the paradigms have always corroded , all the ernie ball strings last about as long as daddario xl110 strings, HOWEVER , if i use elixirs, i can usually do an entire leg of gigs on one set, and thats kickin the shit out of the strings on it, changing tunings up n down here and there, ernie ball need to seriously look into their paradigm strings, im sure they were great but all these "stronger than" videos are total bullshit, the artists arent exactly being harsh at all, im far harsher on one of my bands songs on my ibanez, and the paradigms went twang on gig 1, elixirs have never broken on me ever, paradigms have, says it all, im willing to speak with someone at ernie ball to work on this if they want to speak to me about it all etc as a lot of people are having this issue so they cant hide from it forever and i will go more public about it as you cant charge 5 pounds (in britain) more than a set of elixirs for a string that (albeit sound great) really dont hold up at all against elixirs in any way, even the m steel sets are superior. Regardless of the rant im willing to speak to someone at ernie ball to help resolve this matter as its a bit ridiculous the claims they are making, and not ringing true

I Broke 2 Strings in One Year and after playing 3 shows with the same Strings. I Love them, but they're not unbreakable

Adam Day is the original Slash's guitar tech since his old days with GN'R (and he's considered one of the best techs out there)... Adam then worked for a while with Angus Young, then for a whole tour with Neal Schon. Ace worked with Slash for a pair legs of the tour with Conspirators. Adam is and still the deal.

stronger than buckethead?

bucketheads a technical player, and although he still probably breaks strings, I don't think he breaks them as much as slash, who is a feel player.

I’ve seen Buckethead break a string and continue playing another 7 minutes as if it didn’t even happen. Buckethead is never phased by a string break he can just shred through it

I remember he broke a string during welcome to Buckethead land and he acted like he didn’t even need the string anyway. He’s such an amazing guitarist. By farrr my favorite, he’s the only artist I know that can produce such a mad quantity without sacrificing even the littlest bit of quality

Here we again. The never ending debate if who is better, slash or buckethead? The thing is,its completely preferential. Buckethead is guitar solo writer. While slash is a song writer. Simple as that. Which do you prefer? An instrumental with technical guitar riffs? Or a complete whole song with not just guitar riffs but also amazing melodies and lyrics? That's just it. Simple as that. Alot of those kids saying slash sucks don't even know how to play guitar or a noob in playing guitar. Yet when they bash guitarist like slash or kirk or gary moore they are speaking like as if they know what they are talking about,when they don't even know how to play guitar. And if they do, they're probably stuck on playing smoke on the water. Lol. They played smoke on the water then apparently they would come out on youtube saying slash sucks. Lol. Kids thesedays
