Love how the tech just cuts all the strings at the same time on what is probably a very, very valuable guitar. Very compelling evidence that doing so does not, in fact, warp the neck or damage the instrument in any way - as is so often claimed.

Unskilled Slash Could you explain how to do that it’s not very clear in the video. However what I do is basically align the tuning peg hole vertical so the string goes straight through go towards the Gibson logo with the string then go underneath and the pull it back the way it came by almost folding it over then tighten the tuning peg.

Go figure. I've been using ERNIE BALL REGULAR SLINKY .010 (very rarely broke strings. mainly changed them systematically) on my JP12. Recently switched to .009 PARADIGM. Broke a high E last night at a New Year's Eve party. Barely played guitar beforehand. Hope that's just a statistical blip. Feeling a bit insecure about using .009. Never seen that happen to LUKE live. :-)

Adam has been Slash´s Guitar Tech since 1988 until 2008 then he went to work with Journey. Then for a couple years had Another Tech called Chet Haun (2008-2011), then Jim Survis, who was once guitar tech for Joe Perry, then Ace and then Doug Redler, who, s been a tech for the Black Crowes. When the Guns Reunion was about to happen the obvious Choice was Adam as he was part of the original crew along with McBob (Duff´s Bass Tech) both of them have been with the band since ´88 and Adam Knows Slash´s very well over the years and knows exactly what Slash wants to sound like.

Sorry @ernieball, I really hate to burst your bubble, but im on my third set of paradigms, a gig broke the high e string twice, they corrode quite easily, the strength and durability claims you are making really arent ringing true, they go grey pretty quickly the strings, i had sets of em on my strat and sg and they havent lasted more than a week or two corrosion wise, elixir 10 gague sets seem to last and sound better longer, ive spoken to 20+ people about paradigms and everyones having the same problems, is there plans to address this? as its a serious concern of many users now and causing major problems, the amount they cost (18GBP) is ridiculous for what you get, theyre not as good as you say, can you please either provide what you plan to do to address this or at least provide details of what coating etc you are using on the strings as these are not lasting in any way shape or form, the only reason i decided to try a few sets was to see if i twas a bad batch but no, all bad, im willing to try again soon if you are correcting any issues as i do love the slinky tone (i use them exclusively in studio) but having to rely on elixir at the moment live due to the paradigm strings corroding far too quickly

I have tried paradigms on all my guitars, i have an RG350MZ (retrofitted with an edge pro tremolo), a g400 SG, an 83 jv HH strat, and all the paradigms have always corroded , all the ernie ball strings last about as long as daddario xl110 strings, HOWEVER , if i use elixirs, i can usually do an entire leg of gigs on one set, and thats kickin the shit out of the strings on it, changing tunings up n down here and there, ernie ball need to seriously look into their paradigm strings, im sure they were great but all these "stronger than" videos are total bullshit, the artists arent exactly being harsh at all, im far harsher on one of my bands songs on my ibanez, and the paradigms went twang on gig 1, elixirs have never broken on me ever, paradigms have, says it all, im willing to speak with someone at ernie ball to work on this if they want to speak to me about it all etc as a lot of people are having this issue so they cant hide from it forever and i will go more public about it as you cant charge 5 pounds (in britain) more than a set of elixirs for a string that (albeit sound great) really dont hold up at all against elixirs in any way, even the m steel sets are superior. Regardless of the rant im willing to speak to someone at ernie ball to help resolve this matter as its a bit ridiculous the claims they are making, and not ringing true

2:13 haha He wasn't exaggerating when he said he plays aggressively! Whatever strings Slash is using are likely to be strong AF because otherwise he'd be breaking strings every show.

9s.... yea nah if he cared that much he would atleast go 10-11 possibly 12-13 even. 9s are similar to 8s on a strat he clearly plays aggressive so why bother going low gauge??

Is it true that these strings don't break easy or its a joke? because all guitar strings use a steel core wire so what is the difference between the Paradigm steel core wire they are using to make it strong or they are using less nickel and a thicker steel core wire?

He has broken strings SINCE the Japanese leg btw so if he is using these they do break. Coma at Slane Ireland for instance, think it was his 3rd or 4th that went.

Gibson Les Paul's are awesome,but without locking tuners it is difficult to keep in tune. I don't understand with Slash's bends how it returns to tune

The first time i used Ernie Ball strings was before a gig we had at my school. The strings were great once they got set up, but i had to give the guitar to another guy and after he played the strings were dead. Very dissapointing. Since i dont change strings too often (usually when they break) it wasnt long before i had to change em again.

A few thoughts: Slash likely gets a new set of strings every concert for each guitar (as his guitar tech is there anyway and he'll get the strings for free). This means every set of strings is highly unlikely to break. I also doubt his "beta testing" was very scientific, especially based on the fact he probably uses these strings as he makes the most money from endorsing this company. The tone from these strings? Undetectable to 99.9%+ of people at each concert when his guitar is plugged into his guitar rig. All very misleading!
@brucejsg
@brucejsg 7 жыл бұрын
Peter Walton True, his guitar tech already said he gets new strings every concert, and on guitars he uses for one song like the B.C ritch in YCBM it's every other concert. As for the $ for endorsement he does use this since the 80s when he started, so I doubt it's purely money, plus he's made enough money along the years to afford whatever string he wants lol

Which daddarios were you using I used to live and die by nyxls but found live they broke every second gig Went back to using Ernie balls cause my local store didn't have any 12 gauge daddrios so bought Ernie balls and haven't broke a string live since Daddrios just seem better for playing in your room to be dont hold up in the chaos of live
