Don’t use soap to lube the screw threads! It will eventually rust. Use bees wax! I do really like the strap locks!
@alan6six66 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your advice steve! Yeah, the strap locks is really good 🙏
@jamesreaves55345 жыл бұрын
Use Gulfwax. Paraffin wax used for canning food. Soap draws moisture, will cause rust and the wood to swell. Bee's Wax is too soft, sticky and gummy. Gulfwax paraffin wax is superior. Gulfwax is also great for rubbing wooden track drawers and windows.

@@jamesreaves5534 Why on earth would you need to wax the screw.???? Just screw the screw in.

I’m confused as to which brand strap locks u have to drill your guitar for...they’re all like this

The Dunlop ones. Model is SLS1033BK. On amazon they have a video showing drilling for installation.

Question 🙋♂️ I just bought the Ernie ball super locks for my acoustic guitar and strap but since the end of the super lock is closed, I can’t plug an amp or PA system in. Is it doable to just screw a super lock strap button beside the end pin on the bottom of the guitar? This way, I can plug in and still connect the bottom strap

@@jellowrock im using soap. But upon checking in few forum I didn't recommend it. U might want to use proper lube for wood.

Does anyone know if the Ernie Ball screws work fine on a Squier Bullet Strat? Edit: I checked a month ago, and it turns out the holes aren't deep or wide enough to accommodate the Ernie Ball screws unless you drill them.

@@Fragments_Ov_Shattered_Malice_ I probably should have updated my comment when I checked. Turns out they don't unless you drill them. The holes are too shallow and not wide enough.
