Ernst Roets discussing the motives behind farm attacks

AfriForum announced the latest farm attack statistics for 2019 during a media conference on 4 June 2019 a farm attack survivor also shared with the media the horrific details of the attack during which she was shot and raped.
Ernst Roets, Deputy CEO of AfriForum, says it is a great cause for concern that mainstream commentators and opinion shapers seem to actively concentrate on discrediting any attempts to make the cruelty and common occurrence of farm attacks be known, by calling it a conspiracy theory or an exaggeration. “Farm murders and attacks are serious crises. It is important that we communicate factually about it; it is however just as important that we acknowledge the extent of the crisis for what it is.”

The one thing that stands out to me is. Why would a thief walk for hours to a farmer to torture rape and then steel something like a phone and maybe some cash if they can get more than that in a city or town.

Relatives on my maternal grandmother’s side were killed like animals in former Rhodesia, so her family emigrated here to the USA. I think the future is very bleak for the future of South Africa.

1) It’s revenge...years ago farmers where the frontline border defense 2) It’s about land...willing seller willing buyer....farms traditionally owned in the family, run in the family inherited by the family...why would someone happily inherit a property where their family member was butchered? 3) Draw a map of farm murders over the last 25 years, establish who bought farms, how much they paid and if said farm was attacked prior to being on sale....follow the money, find the politicians buying farms from murdered occupants...BINGO!
