I love this Park…I was born and lived round there (Lodge Lane)…back in the ‘50’s…used to take my young daughters there…in the ‘70’s and let them play, and run round the statue …such a great park..👍🏻

My friend's little brother, back in the 70s, had to stand on one leg in a Gang Show and say, adopting the pose: "I'm Eros - but I wish I wasn't Eros I'm Eros - and I really must protest The winds of Piccadilly can be very cold and chilly Especially when you haven't got a vest" Can't remember the rest. The bandstand does get used occasionally when there’s are festivals, it was sooo used in the 80s ( Larks in the park) the fountain doesn’t really get switched on until the summer 😡 usual bollocks about cutbacks , loaddddds of pennies get thrown in people making wishes, the park has green flag status , basically because of how well it is maintained, some hidden gems in the park you just have to know wer to look 👍
