Erosion/Mud Control around the Tractor Shed Part 1

The area that I am putting down gravel is around my tractor shed and road access for the logging trucks in and out of my pine forest. The road was push out this past summer when they thinned the pines all the way to the top of the hill to the loading deck. The problem is when it rains, it all comes down the road all the way to my house driveway bringing with it lots of mud. I put in a run off ditch right where I dump the first load of gravel which carries all the water from the deck and runs off into the woods which takes care of 80% of the water. The gravel keeps the erosion under control and the mud around the tractor shed. But this will also be used by logging trucks several years down the road. It's really nice to work around the shed and not have to walk in mud. From the ditch to the loading deck is continuing to erode so I need to come up with a solution for that at some point.

What size/grade stone are you using? That should be great coverage and helpful!

2-2 1/2” stone. Larger than normal driveway gravel. This area gets really wet especially in the winter so I will lose some of the stone. When I put this down it’s was really dry so it went down nice. Part 2 should be out this week and it was wetter but not bad. Now…..it is really wet. I’m trying to keep off it with anything heavy until it settles more. The rain really packs it down more than you would think. Thanks for watching!!!!
