I can't get enough of these playthroughs. Please keep them coming! It's an absolute pleasure to listen to the instrumentals (no disrespect to the vocals at all!) and see how the riffs are played by the writer. An absolute brilliant album altogether and amazing to view the playing style

Been listening to Erra since Impulse came out. Y'all just don't write bad songs. Forever a fan
@MarkLePage3 жыл бұрын
It’s the tapping riff for me…. Every time you guys go a heavier song than the usual ERRA, it always ends up being a favorite from the album. Whether it’s Vaalbara, Valhalla, or now Scorpion Hymn. An entire album of heavy ERRA might melt my brain.

The breakdown still gets me, SO GOOD!!
@ChrisS-mk1yr3 жыл бұрын
Which one though? Pretty much the whole song is a breakdown.😆 My favourite is the one that starts at 1:30 ... that low, guttural "eeeee!" growl from J.T is so fittingly nasty too and I can't help but make the stank face when it kicks in!
@aelarlightbringer63723 жыл бұрын
That second verse (especially that tapping riff) is one of the best seriously heavy sounds I’ve ever heard. The way that first note of each measure hangs out before the tapping just gives such a feeling of crushing, deliberate, total power. It’s indescribably sick (and gets even more so with J.T.’s vocals)
@yourself88xbl3 жыл бұрын
For anyone in the comments that hasn't witnessed it first hand this man absolutely nails his vocals on top of shredding like this. Unreal to watch him live.

I've listened to a lot of Metal over the past two decades, and when I first heard Erra a couple of years back they were truly a breath of fresh air for me. They have such a unique and technical, but yet hooky, accessible style to their songs. Their songwriting is nothing short of masterful and the overall musicianship is equally mind-blowing. These guys fully deserve the success that they have achieved with the latest album, and I hope that success continues to grow in the future.

Really awesome playthrough. I'm questioning myself how you create those riffs.
@MrCholoPants34153 жыл бұрын
He, along with almost every metal band, comes up with a general idea, then they put it into tab software like Guitar Pro, and they manipulate the MIDI notes with trial and error. Then they learn to play the finished product. It's a great way to write
@Anjì_ke3 жыл бұрын
@@MrCholoPants3415 hey, I mean I play guitar myself and play it into my daw. But are you sure they tab it first then start the creative process? Some riffs are just "wtf how" I can't imagine they just tab random stuff into gp tbh. Ye I mean to give it to other bandmates or someone but in the creative process?
