I was in the 6th grade when I first got into Erykah Badu. I was on her tough! Head wraps and all. From 1996 all the way until 2018 I listened to her. I could never understand why I was never able to make her concerts. In 2018 I just felt something was off when I listened to her. I didn't know it then but it was Holy Spirit saying "Stop. Close your ears to her" I didn't understand, then not even moments later I saw a clip on KZbin speaking about her being a real live witch. I deleted all her songs off my phone. 2023 I deleted every R&B...old school too, rap, hip hop, neo soul song off my phone. God had to circumcise my ears. If I hear a song now, I can pick up that it's demonic, I hear the satanic influenced chant in the chorus. These people are anti-christs and people do not want to believe it. About 14 years ago, I went to an erykah concert. Her opening song was literally my least fave song by her so I was not vibing. “The healer” I literally had to google as I’m writing this because I can’t stand the song it’s bad vibes and if you’re a Christian don’t listen to it it makes my skin crawl every time. At the end of the opening song she let out an ungodly shriek which feel like it lasted forever, everyone was going crazy for it and all I could think was I’m not supposed to be here. I had just stopped going to church, and I litterally could not really enjoy the concert after that. I’ll never forget it. I don’t listen to Erykah now and I think God has blessed me with discernment as he has been opening my eyes to all the things I should and should not be doing. I’ve just started rekindling my relationship with Christ. But after over a decade of going to concerts you can definitely feel the ones that you are definitely not supposed to be at and I don’t go to them anymore. It’s a form of worship and the only one I praise is God.
