Opening up the conversation, Sway reminisces on the first time they met in the 90's and praising her for how far she has come. In fact, next weekend, November 29th, you can catch Ms. Badu hosting the Soul Train Awards. Not only is she hosting, but she's also an Associate Producer with complete control of all her lines.
That same week, November 27th, she'll also be dropping her new album, But You Can't Use My Phone. Describing her music as "sound(ing) like a mirror" soaking in the frequency around us.
While in-studio she also opened up about being a doula. According to Google, "a birth companion and post-birth supporter, is a nonmedical person who assists a woman before, during, and/or after childbirth, as well as her spouse and/or family, by providing physical assistance and emotional support."

@@realascanb222 😍 I went to see her at the House of Blues in Boston, it was one of the greatest shows I’ve ever been to, and I always say it is my favorite of all the shows I’ve gone to. It must not have been long after this comment was made because I think it was like 2017ish. It was incredible how she filled me up with her energy, it was truly beautiful. I got there early and posted up to get the best spot we could get which meant a looong time of standing there and watching opening acts before she came out, so I was getting really tired and had a headache by showtime, but when she came out all that went away and she lifted my spirit up. It really was amazing. Her voice just dissolved everything that was negative away. It was truly a privilege to see that show, she came out in this cape of flags, and played the most epic track list. She even played one of my favs I wasn’t expecting to hear, “Soldier,” which was off the hook! I am so glad I was able to get to one of her shows. I hope to get to another one and will go again with any opportunity I get. Thanks for sharing your love of Badu with me, I appreciate you! ✊💚💙
