Logically speaking, if Erza choosed 51, she would have won. However an important reason why Erza choosed 100 monsters instead is because Cana is number 8, meaning that if Erza choosed 51, Cana would have been in risk with no monsters left to fight. Anyway this day is my favorite from the grand magic games, well done to Erza and Cana!!

@@blackairforce13 why should i hypothesize on a non existent FT Team B scenario to prove your point? the rules are clear, FT Team B's disadvantage based on turns is easily recognizeable, too. Erza didn't predict the MPF alternative FYI, but if Erza picked just 50+, the rest could still be won by Orga or Wizard Saint Jura whose turns comes just before Cana; even Obra could have easily won had he had not been instructed to lie low. There is no guarantee at that point that participants who didn't get their turn will have an alternative to establish points. what more if Cana remains as the last participant without any monsters to defeat, and without anyone else to challenge, that could seal FT Team B's fate as last place, i.e., zero points. so, why would Erza risk that?

Huge in depth explanation of the games rules that are very smartly crated and extremely interesting (Seriously, I'd really like to participate in his thing, sounds so fun), examples of how it works and characters pondering their options. All of that, for Erza to completely break the ENTIRE game with one sentence. She could have asked for 51, if she did she would already guarantee first place. But she asked for 100. She doesn't want the first place, she just wants to show everyone what Fairy Tail really is made out of. It's as the say: "It isn't enough to simply defeat your enemy, you must complete humiliate them."

Actually sting is scared bcoz of how natsu can push back sabertooth's master with fire fists (and it wasn't Even with intention of killing just to teach him a lesson and by the way no one in sabertooth fought their master thats why Sting looks so shocked that natsu can keep up with the lvl of a guild master) hope it clears thing's. misunderstanding.

The worst part of Yukino getting expelled from Sabretooth is that she learns nothing from it. The best part is that they eventually do. The bittersweet part is she'd have to have been a cat for either of her Dragon Slayer "friends" to lift a finger to fight for her.

Look at the massive barrage of hits that Natsu landed on Jiemma... and all the nothing it did. Not a single scratch. Too bad that Minerva somehow redirected that final attack. It would have been interesting to know if that would have done any harm. But it already speaks volumes about Jiemma being able to tank what came before without damage and for Minerva to being able to just casually redirect such a massive attack without even breaking a sweat. And it also shows Natsu's growth thanks to second origin. When he fired the ligning flame dragon breath at Max right after returning from Tenroujima, he passed out shortly after. But here he fired off a similar attack and seems perfectly fine. In a way this could be considered a troll... they spend all this time explaining the rules only for Erza to just go "I'll do it all myself, making the whole explanation kind of unnecessary. But a god damn epic troll that makes you feel good! ^^ If you wonder why she doesn't just get 51 or somesuch that gurantees her victory, but eases the burden and risk on her, it's in part as a demonstration and in part for Kana. With callibres like Obra and Jura in there, it's likely that by the time Kana has her turn there wouldn't be anything left, or at least too few to place high. By taking all out, she can guarantee that Kana will have a better chance at earning second place.

​@@Sawa1698 while not explicitly stated, I'm pretty sure Laxus, Gildarts, Mira, and Erza have already unlocked their second origins. Their stamina (save Mira who let her power atrophy) and strength is a cut above the rest. It's especially obvious early in the series although Lucy, Gray, Natsu and Wendy are now much stronger after having theirs released.

@@Sawa1698 Ultear's method was a shortcut, which is also why it had such a painful price to pay. Most wizards unlock it normally as they grow and train. This was a quick method to get them ready for the GMG. Erza didn't need to do it for a reason and it wasn't just to spend private time with Jellal. I know when I read the manga there was a lot of speculation and pretty much most assumed she already had it.

Erza might have unwittingly unlocked her second origin prior to Ultear's help, but let's not dismiss the fact that she still underwent Ultear's shortcut; before Crime Sorciere bid them farewell with that boost, Ultear even remarked why Erza seemed unaffected with pain like everyone else.

This was my favorite chapter in the manga. They spent 15/20 pages explaining the event and then Erza just invalidates the entire thing in a few panels. It's actually a detriment to the moment that the anime stretches out the fight in the next episode.

Man erza plot armour goes crazy in upcoming episodes but it also statrs to feel too cringy .One of the bad thing about fairy tail is that there plot armour is s*** , i mean they always show stronger more stronger and make weaker character stronger but still keeps initial strong character stronger . that's why there are rankings in this world. being a guild S-class is not even the end of it all. Guild masters may be above S-class level and we're even named as among Wizard Saints. Fairy Tail isn't an underdog's story; even their enemies and competitors can progress, so naturally the main characters can also progress.

@@bleakwulf what I want to say is , if you have watched the final series then you know that scene where erza fights her mom and the meteorite that feels so unnatural . I mean requip cannot defend against a meteorite unless there is special armour for that . Also during natsu vs gray she just cathes the special attack fists like nothing. And all the logic they give is "power of bond " ,"fairy tail....." Not only once but every f time . Still the story is good
