I always loved Doranbolts reaction to this. He felt so guilty after the tenro arc. Fell to a depression, took a filler to get better and then he’s still ashamed because of what they lost to even see them. And here they are showing him that they’re okay. Hence they show him crying more than the others who are simply moved by the event. For him it’s a lot more than that.

The 3 grand fairy spells, fairy glitter is a one-shot kill attack. The big issue is that it's like a double-edged sword that damages the user as well. When Kana first used it, she was sober and inexperienced using it. Now she was plastered drunk, and it gave her the ability to unleash it a full force without feeling anything. That one attack basically made her sober 🤣

It doesn't damage the user though. It is just had the same problem with Urano that it needs time to cast and can easily be disrupted and makes the caster vulnerable.

See, that's why FT is such a good anime. Cana is a side character but she gets time to shine. And she blinded everyone! She gets her story, her development. She's turned into such a great character and she'll only keep growing. It's always great when you give your side characters their time to shine and FT does soooo good in this department, unlike most other big animes. Hell, I dare say that FT is better than Naruto in this department.

I love rewatching so much because from the first episodes you look differently at Ultear, at Jellal, at other "villains" from a different angle, because you look at their actions already having an idea about their back story. in Fairy Tail, it's impossible not to love someone, every character has gone through shitty situations and had a moment to show they realized how they were wrong.

FT is definitely my favorite anime because nothing made me moved like them. It even makes fan feel like they are a part of the guild. I wouldn't say it's better than Naruto, but it's definitely one of the best and it's a shame people hate on it so much. They just judge a book by it's cover. Complaining about fanservice when you find it almost in every anime and boring fights when there are fights like Natsu vs Jellal, they just don't know what they are missing

The Fairy Glitter is a magic that cana already know, she learned it on Mavis grave, but isn't perfect yet. She needs keep trainning so she can use it. Mavis choose her to give this magic because she is really strong, how she said, Cana has a incredibly high latent ability. Well, she is Gildarts daughter after all ^^

In the manga there is a small extra chapter where we see Gildarts in a bar watching Cana in the games and he becomes the worlds dorkiest dad and starts celebrating his daughter.

I liked this part in the manga the most, both for the usual blood censures (when erza raises her sword in the air you can't count the wounds there are too many, wendys help) and for Gildarts attending the tournament day crying like a child for his daughter and Erza 😭🤣

I know I'm hella late but this is one of the Episodes that cement Erza as one of the "Best Girls" of ALL Anime ever, alongside her fight against Azuma on Tenroujima (so far from your Perspective). You guys just finished this Arc and believe me there are more of those to come...What a Gal, I literally named my Dog after her, because NOBODY fucks with Titania. The only Female Badass Character coming even close to her in like 10 Years of Shounen is Maki from JJK, and we're gonna need another 2 years for that to be in Anime xD

Cana had latent ability but hindered by her holder type magic which is card magic. Same thing with Lucy, as a holder type wizard, they heavily rely on items (Keys, cards, etc) and might not be able to fully utilize their magic power.

Yes. I was pretty much confused at the pointing system of this round at first. But then I realized Erza got the first placer's point for this round as she defeated all 100. The rest are only competing for the second to eight place. Which Cana won the second place. It's a waste ngl. I think she could've got as strong as the likes of Mirajane and Erza cause the potential is there. But yeah, what else is to give her aside from Fairy Glitter and Cards.

Sabertooth doing the same? No, not with Orga down there. Maybe Minerva, but she wasn't nominated for Pandemonium. Jiemma the master certainly, but he's not even in the trounament. But anyone else? No, just no. Jura of Lamia Scale on the other hand might well have pulled the 100 vs 1 off too... though I don't think he would have ever tried, since it doesn't really fit with his temperament. With Millianna keep in mind how her magic made anyone bound in it unable to use magic back in the Tower of Heaven arc, so she's more about utility than raw strength. But of course that goes for Hibiki even more. As a supporter he can be the ultimate trump card, like when he gave Lucy Urano Metria... but alone out on the frontlines, he sucks. ^^

Some people are saying that if you get 51 points, you win, but it's not wrong to pick 100 because at the time Erza challenged, there was no alternative competition envisioned to determine the second-place finishers, so all teams except FT-A could have ended up with zero points in this competition and could have run alone. That's not what happened. This was all Canas doing. She used Fairy Glitter with her own magic. It's just that powerful of a spell. Mavis just granted the spell to Cana again because she is worthy and talented enough to use it.

most of spells can be learned and can even become the core magic of the user (like Gray's ice maker) honesty is waste that she did not got to master another magic system with her enormous innate mana pool she could even main the first guild master full move set as her core (makarov only reluctantly mastered one move, needed many years to that and basicaly gave up on the other ones)
